As I drive to the bunkers and glance at Sam and I notice he's asleep my sweet baby..I stare at Sam for a few seconds and move my hand from his thigh up to his hair and play with his hair as I drive. After only a few minutes of driving I pull off to the side and carefully pick sam up and place him in my lap, careful as not to wake sam. I kiss his forehead and go back to driving with sams face in my neck, one of my hands on the wheel the other under sams shirt rubbing his back. I wonder what's wrong with him. Something is different. What if he's not your Sam. Says the other voice in my head. No, he has to be my Sam, the other Sam is probably with the other Colby being treated like a king. I can't treat my Sam like that but I'll try. How can I try? I'm fucking insane! No shit. Fuck off you bitch. You realize if he's not your Sam, you'll have to kill him, even if you love him. No. Shut up! Fine. And with that my head goes silent. Not even my own thoughts can be heard. I zone out on the road and keep driving, glancing at directions every now and then.

"You know, now we can't go to Florida." I chuckle."We'll have to go when you're better, maybe like a date. And I won't make you wait months." Sam smiles. "I wonder if Sylvie's in here.." "actually, I asked when I got here, she is..but she's got a low chance of survival..." "Сукин сын." "But they're doing everything they can. They told me If she does make it, she'll have a lot of brain damage, enough to make her lose all memory and might have to learn to talk and everything again." "So it's like she's a baby all over again?" "Pretty much..." "that's not as bad as her dying." "Yeah. It's still bad though" "it'll be fine" "no mike, I know you'll say it's fine now then go into a fit or rage and/or depression later and put me through it. Please, for the first time, accept that this is happening."
