Chapter 33: Knights meet Slayers

(Yami's p.o.v.)

We had just bore witness to a woman eating a man alive. While my subordinates had no clue what we were dealing with, I knew exactly what this woman was. She was a demon. Noelle and Luck were obviously scared out of their minds, I could tell from their Ki. Can't say I blamed them, demons are unlike any other monster you would face in the world. Honestly, that was my first time even seeing a demon in person. Even if I know what their capable of doing, it still wouldn't be enough of an advantage to defeat one of those man eating monsters. If I wanted to kill this woman, I would need sunlight or a Nichirin sword, either of which I have. We were deep in a dungeon, where the sun doesn't shine, and my katana wasn't made of the same steel as Nichirin blades. With our magic power, we could probably slow it down at best. The main problem was we didn't know what this demon could do, her abilities were a complete unknown. I knew that Julius had assigned me to this mission in order to protect the other Magic Knights from demons until the Demon Slayers arrive, but I wondered how long would I hold out in a fight with a demon, especially without the right tools for the job.

  The demon called out,

  "Blood Demon Art: Strumming Death!"

  With that, she played on her shamisen and a shockwave in the form of a slash came flying toward us. We managed to dodge the attack with the help of our magic. The demon launched the attack again, but this time at me. To defend myself, I launched an attack of my own to counter her's.

  "Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless Slash!"

  I launched a slash of darkness toward her shockwave. When the two attacks collided, they cancelled each other out. The collision kicked up enough dust to cloud our vision, but with Ki I could still tell where the demon was. Taking this as an opportunity, I charged toward to land an attack. I coated my sword with Dark Magic again and raised my blade over my head.

  "Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Black Blade!"

  I brought it down and managed to cut the female demon. She jumped back and prepared her next attack, but Luck, who decided to follow my lead, came up from behind her using his Lightning Magic. He pulled back his Lightning cloaked right hand and swung at her like bear swiping it's paw. However, the demon knew the attack was coming, quickly jumped, did a backflip and launched the same attack as before directly above Luck. Thankfully, he was able to dodge it in time. The demon landed on her feet and Noelle immediately fired a blast.

"Water Magic: Sea Dragon's Waterfall!"

The demon launched another shockwave slash to counter Noelle's attack. I quickly followed up with a chain attack.

  "Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless Wild Slash!"

  I fired off a flurry of Dark Magic slashes at the demon, she dodged most of them, but the rest left her with a some shallow scratches. I called out to Noelle and Luck, "Don't let her get the chance to fight back, keep pressing the attack!!!" Luck charged at the demon and began throwing punches and kicks at her to keep her from playing her shamisen and launching another shockwave. While he kept the demon focused on him, I decides to sneak behind and try to decapitate her. I swung another Black Blade at her neck, but before it got close, she jumped up and dodged it. Thankfully, Luck wasn't as tall as the demon, so the strike flew over his head.

  While the demon was in the air, she tried to launch an attack at us, but Noelle managed to hit her with her Water Magic. The demon got thrown back a ways and landed on her feet. But as soon as she landed, she launched another shockwave slash, this time at Noelle. She saw this and called out.
