A Strange Kind of Magic

The Forest

We drive straight down the road for what seems to be forever, and the I look out the window and realize that we aren't even on the road anymore. "Pepper, where the heck are we going?! We're not even on the road anymore!" I yell.

Pepper then stops the car and says, "We're here."

We are in small field in a grove of trees, there is something magical about this place. Pepper gets out of the car and walks around to help me out. I am in awe as I look around, and then I realize that Pepper has layed out a picnic blanket , and some food.

"I come here sometimes when I need to get away. This place is very special to me." He says while my hands and looking deeply into my eyes with his light blue eyes. He leads me over to the blanket and sits me down, handing me a sandwich. "Peanut butter and honey, my favorite" I say to him. "I know what you like!" He says jokingly.

We talk and there are many laughs while we eat. After we finish our food, I lay down with a giggle, looking up at the starry night sky, and Pepper joins me shortly after.

"Hey, Charlotte."Pepper says, sitting up. "Yeah" I reply, doing the same. "You know... I'm really sorry if I acted like a butt to you at the beginning of the school year..." I look down, realizing that my friends must've told him about that rant. He continued "I'm really sorry..." he lifts up my chin, and strokes the side of my face, keeping his hand there. "I-I just had.... feelings for you... (You were now both blushing) .... and I didn't know how to deal with it... because I knew you would never want me back after how I treated you... and I knew that you had moved on... Maybe... you could find it in your heart to forgive me...?" I hugged him very tightly, tearing up a little bit "oh Pepper... I never stopped loving you!" The force of the impact of my hug knocked him to the ground. He picks me up in his lap, and kisses me straight in the lips. This was my first kiss, and I was glad it was with Pepper. He holds me in his arms, and we fall asleep in the forest under the stars.

I wake up in the middle of the night to find myself lying in a strange new place. I have never been here before, but it seems familiar. I look around, I appear to be alone. I am suddenly hit by a wave of fear. "Pepper?!"
