We entered the doors invited with yellow wallpapers that made the house brighter, we walked up the stairs to his library which was his office during the war. I looked around in amazement of how big it is inside.
The lady's phone then rang in her pocket, "Ah...I'm so sorry, this is my emergency phone." she picked it up. "I'll be right back. continue looking around if you want but don't touch anything." she put it to her ear and wandered outside, "Well that was super professional." Tyler gritted his teeth. "I-I don't think that's professional" Logan said not getting the tone.
"I was being sarcastic." "...Oh." Logan sighed, "Eh an emergency is an emergency" Taylor shrugged. "It'll be more fun to explore on our own anyway!" I swear I saw actual stars in her eyes.
This place was really old, there were gold plates a nice chimney in a kitchen a creepy old wheelchair and at least three rooms, once we got down to a hallway lined with stone bricked walls, I heard Tyler say, "Why is she wearing earplugs?" "What!?" I yelled and turned to Ashlyn "Ah! I thought they were wireless earbuds?!" Aiden shouted beside me "Same!" I remembered.
"Ow" she winced "They're earplugs. I wear them because of my sensitivity to...sounds." Ashlyn went pale like she saw a ghost "Oops. My bad. I thought they were for music" Aiden covered his mouth.
I spotted a painting above a fireplace and walked over to it with Aiden at my heel, it had a tag on it: 'Fredrick Aldern'.
"Oh, that room looks cool!" Taylor announced, "you alright Ashlyn? You look pale." her voice dropped.
"I'm fine." putting in her earplugs, the others checked out the painting where I was and studied it. "Hey As-" I froze in place grinning; I tapped the other's shoulders making them turn blank at the figure behind her...
She looked confused as why we were acting like this, "A-Ashlyn..." Logan shook, "...Behind you." he pointed.
