Chapter 3

PETE'S POV

"So the things you said to me before were a lie, is that it?" I stopped knocking upon hearing those words. I shouldn't listen to their conversation, this isn't right.

I was about to walk away when I heard them again.

"I thought you love him?"

"Who said that I loved him?"

So what he told me that day was a lie I said to myself hurt.

"I can't believe you Vegas"

"I'm telling you now, I don't have feelings for him. Maybe that time I was just caught up because of how he treated me."

"Bastard, you are all bunch of liars"

"Call me whatever you want, but I don't have feelings for your friend, that's the truth. He is just a pet for me."

My hands started trembling after hearing those words, I wanted to run away. But I need to do my work.

Why I'm hurting like this? It's been a month since I didn't see him.

So I'm just a pet for him huh? Now I know the truth. Porsche is right that he is a damn liar.

Now the hatred I was feeling for him is starting to grow back again.

I took a deep breath before knocking cause I don't want to hear any lies anymore.

"Come in" shouted Porsche from inside.

Before entering I put my poker face on.

"Mr. Kinn wants to tell you that he was here ready to pick up the papers for the meeting," I told them without looking at Vegas and trying not to lose my shit.

"Where is he?" Porsche asked me.

"He has a phone call, Mr. Porsche, he will come in a bit,"  I said seriously.

"Mr? really Pete?" he said in disbelief.
I wanted to laugh at his reaction but I need to remain in my poker face.

"Yes Mr. Porsche because you are the head of the minor family now, we should respect you"

"Cut the Mr. will you," he told me and he gesture me to sit but I refused.

"But"

"No but Pete, we're friends, and nothing will change about that even if I'm the head of this bullshit family," he said glaring at Vegas.

I smiled for a bit because of what he said. But I still didn't look at Vegas side.

Why do I need to give attention to a psycho like him?

Not long when Mr. Kinn came in without notice.

"Pete you can wait outside," he told me then I hurriedly went outside.

I don't want to stay there because I don't want to be in the same room with the guy I hated the most.

Or else I can't hold myself and do something to him.

I went outside to smoke just to relax and release some stress.

After smoking three sticks, I went back quickly cause I know Mr.Kinn will look for me.

I was walking back when Chay saw me.

"P'Pete what are you doing here I thought you are still in the hospital?" he asked me with a hint of concern.

"It's been three days since I came outside, I'm okay now see?" I put both of my arms in the like a macho man, to show him that I am strong.

"But you still need to be careful P', you shouldn't work yet."

"I'm fine now, nothing to worry about," I told him smiling and patting his head.

"If you say so P'"

"I'm going back now, I don't want Mr. Kinn to get angry with me if he doesn't see me there," I told him, but when I turn around I saw Vegas standing near us.

I walk past him like I didn't see him.

"P' wait" Chay called and run to me and hug me from behind.

"I'm sorry I didn't visit you always in the hospital before, cause I'm at school," he said sniffing

Since he moved into the main family, he treated me like his own brother.

We are close like Porsche, he likes staying and sleeping in our room since Porsche already move to sleep in Mr. Kinn's room.

He said that he is not used to that kind of environment. He told me everything he felt living in the main family. That he is angry with his brother because he lied to him about his work.

That time I told him to talk to his brother. And tell him what he truly felt about living there.

From then, we become close like brothers.

"It's okay Chay, studying is important too. And besides, I'm here now and working again"

After that, he removed his hands from hugging me.

"Just call me if you need anything okay," I told him and pat his head again

"Okey P" he said still crying.

"Enough crying, save that tears in case I die one day" I joked at him

"Don't say that P" he said and punched me in the shoulder.

"Just kidding, so I'll get going. Your brother-in-law will get mad at me. I hate seeing his angry bird eyes brows" I joke then he started laughing.

"Don't let him hear that P' or else you were in trouble for real" he said smiling.

"That's our secret, even your brother doesn't know that," I said smiling

"Okey P' go"

"Bye, see you again soon maybe" after that I left and went back to Mr. Kinn.
