Chapter 14

VEGAS POV

Flashback

"Vegas, don't embarrass me in front of brother again, or else you know what I'm going to do to you and your brother" my Papa whispered to me in a scary voice.

"Okay, Papa," I answered him like a good boy I am lowering my head because if I answered him no, he will beat me to death again like last time.

My father is so cruel to us, when someone is looking at or watching us he looks like he cares and loves us so much, but it's the opposite thing.

He always shouted and beat us, even if a single mistake only.

Since I am 10 years old he started doing that to me, now I am 12 years old he is becoming worst day by day.

Last week he asked someone to teach me how to hold a gun and how to use it.

I'm scared though, but Papa told me that gun will protect me when I need it.

But I don't like the idea of what he said.

When we entered the old facility, I'm starting to feel agitated. Because I can hear people crying, sobbing, and pleading not to kill them.

I saw my cousin Kim and Takhun there but I didn't see Kinn.

My Papa told me that they are our enemies, that they are not good, so I don't need to be close to them or trusted them.

I saw Kim look at me like prey, but Takhun look at me with pity, I don't know if it was a real pity or what.

I just followed my Papa behind him. Macau is not with us, because my Papa said he is still young to be there.

We went in front of those who are people who are crying and looking at us scared. They're being tied from the back and can't move at all.

"Khan I thought you were not going to show up" I can hear my uncle Korn say.

"I'm going to show you that my son is better than your sons," my Papa said angrily.

"Oh really, but your son looks like he is going to piss in his pants now," then my uncle looks at me grinning.

I hide behind my Papa's back because I'm scared. But my Papa forced me to stand next to him.

And squeezed my arms so tightly.

I need to hide the pain in my face because I know he will squeeze more if he saw me that I'm hurting.

"He's not right Vegas?" My Papa said gritting his teeth.

"Yes Papa" I answered but no sound came out.

"Okay, let's start," my uncle said and went to the table next to him with a lot of guns in there.

My eyes went bulge when I saw my uncle give the gun to Takhun.

But my cousin Takhun didn't take the gun, he only cried and slumped on the dirty floor.

"You are always useless," My uncle said and gave the gun to Kim.

And Kim took it without hesitation.

"Now, let's pretend that they are pointing guns at you try to kill you what are you gonna do, oh wait let's give an example untie him," ordered uncle.

When the person is untied they give him a gun. The man is so terrified after taking the gun.

"You, point the gun to my son" then the person followed what my uncle said.

I close my eyes because I don't want to see what was going to happen, but my Papa saw me and squeezed my arms again.

"Now Kim what are you going to...."

Bang Bang Bang

My cousin didn't hesitate to kill three people in front of him. He shoots them in the head.

My cousin Takhun is sobbing now, and he looks horrified.

"Take all the information of them" I heard uncle order his men.

"As always Kim, you never let me down. I'm so proud of you my son." my uncle said smiling so proudly.

"It's your turn Vegas" my Papa went to the table and bring a gun for me.

"Here, show me what you've got," my Papa says looking into my eye intently.

I took the gun from him, with a shaky and sweaty hand.

With a heavy heart, I pointed the gun at the woman in front of me.

"Don't, please, I have a son don't kill me," she pleaded sobbing.

"Don't kill my wife, I'm begging you, you can kill me if you want," the man next to her says.

Now I don't know where to point the gun at them.

"Vegas just do it." my Papa shouted at me.

No, I can't my mind said, why do we need to kill innocent people?

I hate this I hate this my mind is chanting.

I heard Kim laughing next to me.

"Not brave enough to kill?" he told me

I just glared at him as an answer.

"Vegas I'm counting 1." I heard my Papa again.

"2"

"3"

I don't want to pull the trigger, I put down the gun but Kim took my hand and pointed at them again.

"No," I told him.

"I'm just helping you scaredy cat," he said smirking then he pulled the trigger.

That night my Papa beat me again until I passed out. The next few days I didn't have proper sleep because it keeps on replying in my head about what happened that day.

I didn't get to know who are they, because my father took me away because of embarrassment.

Starting that day, I'm not a good son to him anymore, but I am a disappointment son to him.

And he told us, that no matter what happens in the future, everything he tells us, we need to follow him.

He gave us an option, but the option is to die if we don't follow his command.
