An hour had passed and the Ninjas were still completely thrown off course, their Sensei had never mentioned an Oracle within the year they had all been a team, nor that becoming an elemental master meant they would have to marry some random person.
"So, does anyone have any ideas as to why one of us has to marry this person?" As Cole speaks, the others shake their heads.
"Who do you think it will be?" Jay shoots up at Zane's question.
"Oh, definitely not Kai, did you see how they looked at him?" Kai gives Jay a dirty look. To try and deescalate the situation from another argument, Cole speaks up again.
"Well, it's probably not me either." Looking at Cole, the others questioned why. "I just don't see myself getting married to anyone, especially not someone random" shrugging the others took his answer and continued on with the conversation. Then Jay got an idea; "What if the one that marries them is the Green Ninja?" That catches the other's attention.
"Yeah, that makes sense! I mean, one of us is fated to be the Green Ninja, so that person also being fated to marry the Oracle fits perfectly!" In the 17 to 18-year-old minds sitting together, their realization made perfect sense. Yours on the other hand was grasping on to why the f💥🔥☄️ they are thinking the Oracle needs to marry anyone.
So yeah, the walls are very thin and you're walking around exploring one of the places where your favorite children's shows took place causing you to overhear their conversation. 'So they're trying to marry me? Yeah, f🌈✨☀️ that I'm only 18, I have NO plans of getting married ANY time soon.'
As you walk away, Sensei Wu happens to catch you. He asks you to join him for a walk, you get a sense of what he is going to discuss.
"I'm guessing this is about what the Ninjas were discussing?" He nods.
"I apologize for their behavior, I was not expecting to tell them this information so soon." You turn your head to face him while you both continue walking.
"And what information might that be? I apologize, but I have only been given the role of 'Oracle' very recently, so I am very much lacking information." The Sensei doesn't look toward you as he takes in the information.
From the time that you've been in Ninjago, you have pushed the 'Oracle' comment to the side, not thinking about it and just going with whatever was thrown at you. But now with the whispers of what's coming connected to your forefront knowledge of this world, you need to know about your role in all of it. Wu asks you to sit with him."First off, I would like to thank you for taking care of Lloyd. He, being my nephew, is dear to me; and I have felt great disappointment in Kai for his intentions." He takes a sip of his tea. You brush off his thanks and push him to tell you about the prophecy. "Right." He clears his throat and takes a breath,
"The First Spinjitzu Master™ created Ninjago and the elemental masters to keep its peace. He gave them the door to immortality and let their creativity fly like the wings of a dragon, but with time he discovered a fault in his plan."
You look at Sensei Wu, this information had never been spoken about before.
"As the elemental masters aged, they slowly were consumed by their abilities. The fire became an inferno of greed, Earth became a quake of rage...." The Sensei gestures for you to sit closer as you both gaze into his teapot, images of past elemental masters were shown being taken over as Wu had just said. "So, to prevent that from happening, the First Master had created the option of passing the abilities down. It had worked at first, but it clearly didn't remain that way- as you are standing here today."
Continuing to stare into the pot, it was as if you were standing there yourself. Watching the master's corruption grow and eventually consume them. It was terrifying.
"At the loss of their abilities, they grew desperate. Refusing to pass them down, and being completely consumed by their element until there was nothing but an empty husk left till death". He grows quiet, pain in his eyes like he's reliving each and every one of their deaths. You speak up, your voice noticeably quiet but still able to be heard from across the small table the teapot was sitting on.
"You still haven't explained why the Oracle exists". He nods.
"Eventually the first master gave in, knowing that refusing to let the masters keep their abilities would only result in more suffering and death." "So he made the Oracle" A glimmering light shines from the teapot.
"He gave them his abilities the elemental masters did not have; foresight, clairvoyance, and many others. The first master showed them the Oracle's power and they wanted it for themselves, seeing it as a fitting replacement for the old ones they had lost." Wu takes another sip of his tea
"But the first master wasn't finished, he explained to them the price to pay if they attempted to harm the Oracle and explained the purpose of creating them in the first place-" You finish the sentence for him, figuring it out from the context given.
"To marry the Oracle and keep their abilities?" He nods.
"And to gain one of the most sought-after things in all of ancient Ninjago; Immortality."
You nod, not knowing what to say. 'So marrying me will give the elemental masters immortality?' You don't know how to respond to this new knowledge. You didn't get a chance to ask any more questions you might've had with the knocking at the door.
"Come in nephew." You turn to look at Lloyd, who was cradling Genie in his arm as the other one was moving the sliding door open. He silently walks over and sits beside you, leaning into your arm as Genie cuddles into your stomach.
"That cat-?" Wu starts, and Lloyd jumps up.
"Genie was the one that got us here!" You nod, explaining that wishing to the cat you have here opened a portal- as crazy as it sounds. He seems to look doubtful but hastily explains why.
"While the cat does seem to hold remnants of magic, it wasn't what brought you here." He says ominously, then proceeds to shoo you and Lloyd out.
'Genie wasn't the one that brought us here? Then how did I get to Ninjago?' Lloyd looks just as confused as you but shrugs it off as not important.
'This is all too much...' You breathe out in an exasperated manner as you head back to your room, needing some space to process the information given.
