The scent of lavender mixed with fresh glaze lilies filled the room, distracting you for a brief moment. Your eyes followed as the secretary paced back and forth around the room, and you wiped your forehead as sweat continuously dripped down your face under the hot summer sun. Other than the loud, running fan, It was quiet in the office. There was almost little to no small talk between you and the secretary, and you could do nothing but sit there, in silence.

The young secretary anxiously walked around the room, quietly panicking as she kept checking her watch. She wore a long black dress and bright red heels, she seemed to be in a rush, and you couldn't help but pity the poor girl.

"I like your outfit," You commented, attempting to start a conversation in hopes of easing the tension in the room. She looked back and flashed you a smile, "oh, thanks!" She immediately looks away right after, leaving you disappointed.

A sigh escapes your lips and you rest your head on the palm of your hand. You blankly gaze at the empty chair that sat next to you, silently waiting for his arrival. It's been several hours, and the young boy who was said to be your roommate had yet to arrive for the meeting.

"Hey, Ganyu," you said, glancing at the secretary. She immediately reacted to your call, surprised you had called her by her first name rather than 'Secretary'. She looked back with a flustered expression, "Y/n! I told you not to call me that anymore..." Ganyu muttered, but you simply pursed your lips in response. "I've been in this office since morning, when is this guy going to show up?" You ask as you swing your legs back and forth. She frowned, "Well, Scaramouche is quite... unpredictable. I can't guarantee when he'll show up." She answered, and her words seemed to peak your interest.

"Scaramouche?" You hummed as you went silent for a brief moment. "... so that's his name."

"Hm, odd name," you commented before suddenly standing up and walking towards the door. The secretary was startled by your actions and quickly rushed over to grab your sleeve. "Wait—! You can't leave yet. If you get lost on campus grounds and we can't find you, who knows what can happen?" She stated as she stopped you from grabbing the door handle.

You shot her a glance and breathed out a tired sigh. "It's fine, if I get lost I'll find my way back. And besides, it's too hot in here." You said as you tugged your arm away from the secretary's grasp. She panicked, "At least have someone to accompany you. Don't forget your position Y/n! You're a part of the Kamisato clan, you mustn't act recklessly." Ganyu reminded you, however, it seemed to irritate you.

"Please— I'm not some sort of dog on a leash. I'm fine. I'll be fine!" You exclaimed as you opened the door, but before you stepped out, you looked back at Ganyu's worried expression.

"I'm going to look for this 'Scaramouche' guy. I'll be back soon."

And before she knew it, you were already gone. Ganyu shook her head in disappointment as she looked back at the desk that sat in the center of the room. "Are you sure this was the right decision, Miss Kamisato?"

The chair turned around, revealing a young maiden who sat with her legs crossed, wearing the school uniform; which consisted of a plain button-up white shirt, bow tie, and a pattern red and black skirt. She stood up from her seat and the breeze of the running fan brushed against her high ponytail. "I don't believe Y/n wants to be hidden from the world anymore. You know the type of person she is. No matter how hard we try to keep her in my place, she'll eventually find a way to run off on her own. I don't want to limit her freedom. I think... this is how it should be."

"...Ayaka," Ganyu frowned, feeling sympathetic for the young girl. "But even so, is it such a wise idea to partner your sister with him... ?" The Secretary questioned and the young maiden sighed. "I don't know," she murmured.

But as the two stood in a moment of silence, a familiar sound drew their attention: heels clicking against the marble floor.

The Secretary Immediately looked back. "Lady Ei!"  she exclaimed, surprised by her sudden appearance. "What brings you here?" Ganyu asked nervously, watching as the principal made her way to the desk. Ayaka bowed in respect at her presence before moving out of the way for the principal to settle down on her seat. "Ayaka, thank you for filling in for me during my absence, you can go back to fulfilling your duties as student council." Ei gestured for her to raise her head before turning her attention to the secretary.

"Do you doubt my son?" she asked, immediately getting straight to the point, startling Ganyu. "-N-No! I just..."

The principal nodded her head at the secretaries flustered response, "I understand. Kunikuzushi has a record of being violent, and out of fear, no student has ever tried to befriend or understood him due to his uh...records. Thus it's no surprise you'd worried about putting him with another student." Ei crossed her legs.

"But, since they've both transferred to this school rather late, we only have enough room to spare one dorm for them to share... It'll be difficult to get them separate dorms at this time of year. However, despite my son's background, this could also be used as an opportunity for them both." she stated, puzzling Ganyu.

"An opportunity?" The secretary questioned.

Ei quietly smiled to herself. "Y/N has not been deceived by those rumors about my son, nor has she ever heard of them," the principal explained as she aimlessly stared at the ticking clock.

"I want to see if..." Ei muttered.

"If there's someone capable of befriending Kunikuzushi."
