"Sorry to bother you so late, Yae Miko." Your eyes were coated with a look of exhaustion as you settled down on the sturdy wooden chair before her. Your breath hitches at the gentle touch of the cold stethoscope against your chest.

Her eyes soften with understanding. "No worries love, I'm already used to it because of someone." Yae Miko's gaze briefly shifts towards Scaramouche who loomed behind you with a displeased expression upon his face. "Okay, yeah. Whatever." He retorts, folding his arms across his chest in a defensive gesture.

"Scaramouche wanted to take me back to the hospital but knowing the staff... they would undoubtedly contact Ayaka, and she really needs to rest.  She's already had more than enough scares because of me." A hollow chuckle slips from your lips.

Yae miko hums in response, a playful smile gracing upon her face. "My, and here I thought Ei was such a worrywart. I suppose the two of us have something in common; constantly dealing with anxious individuals." Her hand reaches out from beneath your shirt to remove the stethoscope from around her neck. "Though," she starts, "If I was in Ayaka's place, I'd probably be just as anxious.

"Afterall, who knows when death may come knocking on your door."

Her words immediately pique your interest, and you notice as Scaramouche raises his head; turning his attention completely towards Yae miko for the first time since the two of you had arrived. "...What do you mean?" You ask, putting up a clueless facade in hopes to receive an explanation. Seeing how your hands clench in anticipation for her response, Yae Miko places her stethoscope on the counter and smiles.

She turns her heel back to face you, pressing the tip of her index finger against your forehead. "Honey, you're cursed."

In this moment, it felt as though your heart had stopped beating. "What curse...?" Your act wasn't convincing anyone. Yet, she continued to play along. "You know, the one that nearly ended The Kamisato bloodline a few thousand years ago." Yae miko mentions casually, her nonchalant attitude reflecting that of someone who's experienced many things.

You were at a loss for word, your body stiff as you sat awkwardly on the wooden chair.

"Were you the one who left Y/n's medical records in the kitchen that day." Scaramouche steps forward, a palpable tension lacing over his words. His eyes narrow, his suspicions pointing towards Yae miko who's smirk carries a hint of mischief.

Yae miko erupts into laughter, the expression upon you and Scaramouche's face was priceless. "There's no need to look at me so viciously." She says, briefly covering her mouth with a delicate hand. "I may not be apart of the Raiden family, but we've been closely acquaint for a very long time."

You jumped up from your seat, "But that's a deep secret of The Kamisato Clan, our ancestors have went through great lengths to keep it hidden!" The sound of your voice echoed throughout the house.

She sighs, wafting her hand in the air as she gestured for you to settle down. "Oh honey, I know. I know how crazy you Kamisato's can get over this curse. And how crazy others can too." You notice as Yae miko's gaze lifts to glance at Scaramouche as she spoke the last part.

"Though, perhaps I'm one of them too, crazy over a curse."

Both you and Scaramouche were adrift a sea of confusion, yet, before any questions could be made, Yae miko breaks the tension with a sudden chuckle, "Aren't I getting too sentimental here? Must be the old age catching up." Yae miko remarks, stretching leisurely.

"Well, I believe that wraps up our little check-up love. Your hearts beating steadily and there are no indications of brain damage, as far as I can discern." As soon as you heard that, you turn to Scaramouche. "HA! I told you so!" You declare with a satisfied grin, a sense of accomplishment infused with your tone.

"Oh, shut up—!" He reaches over and grabs your cheek, his fingers pinching you. "OWW! You're gonna rip it off, you're gonna rip it off!" you exclaim in protest.

Yae miko props her head up with her hand, smiling. "Oh to be young again," She thought to herself, reminiscing of a time that has long since past. However, watching as the two of you playfully bicker, she couldn't help but be reminded of someone; of a woman that was once as beautiful as a Sakura bloom.

"All right love birds, stop flirting with each other and get out my house. I'm not in the mood to baby sit teenagers all night." Yae miko sweeps in to break the fight between you and Scaramouche, and watching as the two of your faces redden at her comment brought a sly smirk across her face, especially Scaramouche's.

He clenches his fist, fuming. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU—" You swiftly grab Scaramouche by the wrist, ushering him out of the living room towards the front door amidst his ongoing stream of curses.

"Apologizes for his behavior! And thank you for everything." You nudge Scaramouche out the house to prevent the situation from further escalating, and closely follow behind.

Briefly, you turn to steal a glance at Yae miko, and your eyes meet hers. The thought of her unsettling knowledge of your family secret still lingered in your mind, yet her smile as she bid you farewell offers you a sense of reassurance, perhaps it was the subtle coat of sorrow reflected in her eye; sparking your compassion as you wave her goodbye.

As you move forward, enveloped in the soft luster of the moonlight by the side-walk, a sudden warmth washes over you as Scaramouche unexpectedly slips his hand into yours. With no need for words, you allow your fingers to entwin with his. The firm grasp of his tender hand around yours was like a shield, keeping you safe in his presence.

With him, it felt like you could do anything, no matter what curse nor pain you had to bare.

After you've left, Yae miko found herself curled up upon her bed, an aching sensation tugging at her heart. At times, she often wondered whether having perfect memory was a blessing or a curse. To remember every minute within nearly ten thousand years was consider an exceptional ability nowadays; as only a few Yokai's continue to exist. Yet, occasionally, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed.

While she carried thousands of joyful memories within her heart, it was the bitter ones that constantly clouded her mind.

No matter what Yae miko did, she could never forget. She could never forget the day Ei; The Electro Archon, took her own life.

The day she lost the women that was once as beautiful as a Sakura bloom.

Extra: Scaramouche took Y/n's hand because it soothes his heart. He has a sub-conscious drive to keep you safe, and knowing you're close by eases his anxiety as he refuses to allow his past mistakes to be repeated. (His mistake being the time you were struck by a metal pole)
