Just as expected, you got sick from sleeping on the floor. Your body was too frail to withstand the cold night's without a proper bedding, and because of that, you woke up with a burning fever the following morning. "Awhh," you whined, laying weakly on the new bed Thoma had brought for you. "We won't be able to get much done today, Y/n has to rest and moving furniture would be too loud." Ayaka stated worriedly as she turned back to Ei.
"Why?" Scaramouche questioned, "Why can't we just hurry up and move the furniture in? Y/n can sleep through it, there's no point in delaying it," Ei slapped the back of his head, "—Watch it, Kunikuzushi!" She shouted, confusing him. "Y/n does not have a strong body like you do. We must not take any risks disturbing her rest. It's best she recovers as soon as possible." Ei explains to her son, and oddly enough, he had no complaints, and immediately became silent.
Ei didn't bother to think about her son's unusual behavior and quickly turned her head back to you.
Scaramouche stared at his mothers braided purple hair. It was well kept and nearly covered her entire back. He frowned, slightly envious of you.
Ayaka placed her hand onto your forehead, "perhaps carrying all those boxes put too much strain on her body as well," she mutters. Scaramouche crossed his arms. Everyone was being so dramatic, it was just a fever. He didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
"Alright, Thoma, can you reschedule all my appointments today? I need to stay here and take care of Y/n," she glanced at Thoma who shook his head, "My lady, you have no spare days to reschedule these appointments to," he stated, "it'd be wiser to have someone else take care of her,"
"But—"
A hand placed on Ayaka's shoulder, "my son will," Ei said.
"What?!" Scaramouche retorted. Ei shot him a glare, "Don't try to argue. You're the only one available to take care of Y/n. Besides, she is your roommate." Though he didn't want to, he felt obligated to accept with everyone's eyes on him. "Tsk, I'll do what I want," he said, storming out the room.
Ei sighed as both Thoma and Ayaka's gaze shifts back to her, "I'm sorry about my son's behavior, he's difficult to manage sometimes." she apologized, but Ayaka shook her head, "No, not at all!" But, Ei was silent. "Can you guy's take this somewhere else?" you groaned, turning your body away from everyone. "My apologizes, I didn't mean to wake you up. We'll leave you to rest now," Ayaka said, quickly going to close the curtains as everyone left the room.

Trusting in Ei's words, Ayaka and Thoma left, leaving you in the care of the principal's son. Ei left soon after herself, and all that was left in the dorm was you and Scaramouche. It was quiet, too quiet for the young boy. He sat in the empty living room floor and stared at the ceiling. He wanted to go out to tend to the garden, but now he was basically confined by his mother to stay and take care of you.
He agreed to living on his own in a dorm, not take care of some hopeless girl like you. It isn't his responsibility to baby you, Ei could of called your mother to come over and take care of you instead of asking him.
"...Kunikuzushi," Scaramouche heard you call from the room, on the other side of the wall he leaned against. "What?" he replied, but you didn't say anything back. He then heard a loud thud in the room and he immediately got up.
Scaramouche hurried to the room and opened to the door to find you splat on the ground. "What are you doing?" he asked.
You lift your head from the hard wood floor to reveal the red spot on your forehead from when you had landed on when you fell. "I can't find my hairpin," you said, with a sorrowful look in your eyes. "The hairpin? Is that all you called me for?" he questioned, "You look like an idiot."
You tried to reach for an open box near by to help bring yourself up, but in return, the box tipped over from the weight of your arm and everything inside fell onto you. Scaramouche panicked and rush to take off the many objects that burry you.
"Can you help me find my hairpin? Wait— stop, I can't rest until I know where it is!" you yelled as Scaramouche tried to pick you up. "Stop squirming so much and just let me put you back on your bed!!!"
He wrapped one arm around your back and another under your legs as he effortlessly picked you up from the ground, "You can find the hairpin later." Scaramouche stated, dumping you back onto the bed. "God, I was told to take care of a human girl not a wild animal." he comments.
You grabbed hold on his hand to keep him from leaving, "...my hairpin," you whispered weakly. Scaramouche groaned, irritated. "You don't need it. Go to sleep." He said, "now, let go of me!"
You quickly shook your head, "I can't rest without it when im sick. I left it somewhere on top of the box's." You stopped to breathe. "Can you get it for me?"
Scaramouche didn't want to help. Or in other words, he didn't really care. But you were desperate. You seemed to be trembling and weak from the fever. It was difficult for you to move, and Scaramouche pitied you.
"Fine, I'll go look for it." He ripped his hand away from you as he walked out the room.
Not to long after, Scaramouche found the hairpin sitting atop a box near the front door. He gave it back to you, and you, seeing the hairpin was more then relieved. Having it in your hands again reassured you of your sickness. "...thank you," you uttered, gently holding the hairpin in your shaky hands. "My jobs done. I'm going now," Scaramouche states, preparing to leave the room.
Suddenly, you catch his hand again. He looked back with a puzzle expression, and you avoid eye contact. "Can you... stay a bit longer?" You asked, "I dislike being alone when I'm sick." You admit, though embarrassed.
"Umm," he tried to tug his hand away out to no avail. You looked scared... almost frantic. His gaze softens.
"Fine, just for a minute." Scaramouche signs, sitting down onto the ground beside your bed whilst you still held onto his hand. Looking at you, you had one hand holding the hairpin and another extending to hold his hand. You seemed so frail that is was almost pitiful. He couldn't remember if people looked this sick when they had a cold. Perhaps you were just weak.
Scaramouche leaned his head back against the bed, "hey, why did you want your hairpin so badly?" He questioned, glancing up at you with curiosity. "It was a gift... from someone special," you mumble. "Someone special?" He questioned.
You didn't reply for a moment. "What, was it from your boyfriend?" Scaramouche laughed, but you shook your head. "No," you said. "If this someone was so special to you, why did you put it in my hair?" He asked.
You smile, "Who knows?"
"I suppose you just reminded me of him..."
