A unbelievably bitter feeling suddenly stung Scaramouche's cheek, forcing him wake up as he immediately sat up, gasping for air. He looks down at his hand to find himself covered in bandages with many wires sticking out of his arm. He pants heavily as he struggles to calm his pounding heart. "Where... where am I?" he utters beneath his breath, carefully examining the room. "I'm at a hospital?" Scaramouche questions as his senses began to return.
He moves his hand to hold his head before closing his eyes. Scaramouche didn't understand why his body was acting so strangely, but one thing he did understand was that his head hurt like hell. It was throbbing uncontrollably and it felt as if he was going to lose his mind.
Did he have bad dream again?... It must of been horrible, but Scaramouche couldn't remember what it was.
As the morning sun peeks over the horizon, the sky was painted with a hue of warm orange and pink. The chirping of birds, and mourning doves echoed through his ears whilst he was sat on his hospital bed, panting softly as he tried to calm himself down from the nightmare. A tired sigh passes through his lips, and his mind races with thoughts. As his adrenaline kept him awake, he could feel his heart beating rapidly beneath his chest.
Slowly but surely, Scaramouche began to catch his breath...
"Kunikuzushi!" You suddenly yell with excitement, popping up from the side of his bed with a large grin upon your face. Startled, Scaramouche immediately jolts back.
Seeing his reaction, you couldn't help chuckle softly, "Whoops, did I scare you?" You ask, a warm smile across your face. "What the heck! What are you doing in my room?!" He exclaims, a tone of annoyance evident in his voice. "You're suppose to be resting you idiot!"
You quickly place your finger over your lips, "Shhhh! You're too loud! I don't want to get caught sneaking in here..," You whisper before climbing up onto the other end of his bed.
Groaning in irritation, Scaramouche rolled his eyes. "You know you're suppose to be recovering right now. Aren't you aware that you have a head injury? Or did it make you so stupid that you forgot?" Scaramouche sighs, lifting his gaze towards you. A pure grin was upon your face as you answered, "Yup!"
"Argh, you're lucky you're injured or I would of flicked your forehead a long time ago..." He mutters beneath his breath. "...fine, tell me, what are you here for?" Scaramouche questions. "Hm? Do I need a reason to see you?" You tilt your head, a look of confusion upon your face from his question.
Immediately after hearing your answer Scaramouche points at the door. "If you have no reason to be here, then leave. It's 6am in the goddamn morning. I feel like absolute shit and I want my solitude."
You couldn't help but cackle aloud, "I was just playing with you. I didn't come here for nothing... I want to show you something, just follow me!" You say, climbing off the bed, gesturing for Scaramouche to follow.
"No, why should I follow you? You shouldn't even be up right now. You need to rest."
You pause, taking a moment to think. "How about this..." You start, "if you follow me, I promise to rest. Since you're soooo worried about it." You chuckle a bit, extending your hand outwards towards the young boy, waiting for his response. Scaramouche slowly reaches his hand out, considering carefully about whether he should go with you or not.
He needed you to rest, otherwise you wouldn't recover. He's the reason you got injured in the first place, and Scaramouche knew that if your condition were to worsen he'd never be able to forgive himself.
A tired sigh escapes past Scaramouche's lips, "Okay... fine, I'll follow you." He says, finally giving in as he took your hand, allowing you to help him off his hospital bed. "But I'm only doing this once." He glared at you, but you ignored it and just nodded your head.
