Episode 3 - A Confidential Request

Bryan opened his tired eyes. He was on a comfortable bed. There were two candles floating near his bed that gave enough light to the room. He saw nothing but darkness through the huge glass window which was fixed on the wall to his left. The room looked comfortable; there was only a wooden table with few bottles on it and a comfortable cushion chair in the whole room. He turned to his right when he heard a sound of a creak. He saw the door to the room had opened and a person came in.

The first thing Bryan saw was the tattoo of a scorpion near his left eye. He was middle aged and his face was completely shaved which made him look more intelligent and strong. His body was covered in a black robe.

“Hello Bryan” He talked while coming close to him. “How are you feeling?”

Bryan was feeling an excruciating pain inside him that he felt a million of needles pinching him from inside. The pain left his mind because of the confusion that made him to know where he is.

“Where am I?” Bryan asked in a weak voice.

“Somewhere safe, you have nothing to worry.” The stranger answered with a smile.

“Who the hell are you?” Bryan said in an angry voice.

The stranger’s smile didn’t fade as he spoke wit Bryan with a patient and polite manner.

“I’m Marinkor, please stay on the bed. You need to rest.” He said when he saw Bryan trying to get out of the bed.

“Why? What’s wrong with me?” asked Bryan, puzzled.

The smile faded from Marinkor’s face and out came a serious look. “Don’t you know what happened to you?”

Bryan was looking around the room, confused “No, How did I get here? And what happened to me?”

Marinkor’s realized what had happened. “You have been through a lot Bryan, But we were expecting the answers from you, seems like you don’t remember anything.”

“What? What are you saying?” Bryan was surprised enough. He started to wonder what happened but nothing was recalled, everything was so empty. Marinkor saw how he struggled himself to recall everything.

“Stop it Bryan, you are too weak, when you were brought here you have been starved for a some time, we don’t know what happened to you yet, what we know is you are responding to only vampire blood”

“What?” Bryan’s voice was filled with astonishment.

“Yes, we don’t know what the problem is, what we need is to help you, therefore you need to stay with us till you recover”

“What are you going to do with me?”

“We are going to heal you Bryan, you were in a terrible shape when you came, I am going to give you a potion to drink after that you need to rest. We will talk and diagnose your problem when you are fine.”

“How can I trust you after you told what happened to me?” Bryan questioned.

Marinkor looked at him straight and said. “You can leave if you like, but you must understand that there is no one out there to help you, you can’t remember anything at all and that makes you more vulnerable. Only we can help you now Bryan, so stay with us and I can assure you that you are in safe hands. So are you staying with us?, Bryan”

Bryan thought for a while thinking what to do, Marinkor was expecting an answer from him and he knew what will it be.

Bryan said nothing but nodded his head.

Marinkor smiled came to the table near the bed took a bottle and came to Bryan.

“Here take a few drops from this” He gave the bottle to Bryan.
