"RUN, MILES! RUN!" GWEN yelled as she stopped limping and used her injured foot to run. Pain crackled up her leg, causing her more pain, but she knew she would be in more pain if Prowler caught up to them.
Miles was running, but he was distracted while he ran. Gwen knew that he had never seen somebody die like that, and she felt bad for him.
They ran up to the hole, which was much bigger because of the explosion, and Gwen shot a web as Prowler continued to move quickly. It was going to be harder swinging up there with Miles with her. Her mask felt sticky on her face with sweat as the Prowler was catching up to them.
"Hold onto this!" Gwen shouts as Miles grabs onto her wrists as she shoots a web above them, the web sticking to the ceiling above. Miles went up the hole, yelling by how fast it went. Gwen whipped around, seeing how close Prowler was to them. She could see a purple streak coming towards her, causing her to hurry as she shot herself up, and as she went up she shot multiple webs at the hole, causing her to run out of web fluid.
"Damnit!" she shouts as she tries to shoot a web, and then runs over to the door, getting multiple pains from her ankle where she found wires were dangling and crackling. The door was damaged and open. She saw Miles there waiting for her at the entrance as Prowler broke through the web Gwen made.
Waste of web fluid. "Run, run, run!" Gwen said as they ran. Gwen noticed her clothes hung up in the same web in the corner, grabbing her hoodie and leggings, running as they ran through the fence door. Prowler ran through the door, causing them to run faster up the stairs.
Gwen groaned in pain as her ankle continued to feel worse. Miles looked back at her as she was slowing down slightly.
"Are you okay?" Miles asked as the Prowler ripped through the fence and was racing up the stairs.
"I'm fine!" Gwen yells back as she catches up to Miles as they run through the subway. They kept running easily, as lights were on in the subway. Gwen looked to her side to see Prowler's shadow being cast on the wall, showing he was catching up. Gwen kept running, out of breath and pain rippling through her side and ankle.
As they ran, Prowler suddenly ripped through the side of the subway, revealing a new track. Gwen's sense went off and she looked to the side, Prowler tackling her, her hoodie and leggings flying out of her arms and Miles's phone slid out of the hoodie pocket. The track pressed into her side as Prowler raised his claw to kill her when she caught it.
"Gwen!" Miles gasps as he tries to run over. Gwen began to struggle as she caught Prowler's other hand.
"Get your phone, keep the key safe and run! I'll catch up to you but just run!" she yells. Miles does as she says, but hesitates to run.
"RUN!" she yells, as Miles then runs off.
...
MILES FELT HORRIBLE. He had lost Spider-Man, and now he was abandoning Gwen against his own will. He runs as quick as he can, slowing down in some points to see if Gwen could fight him off and catch up to Miles.
Face it Miles, she's not coming back. You saw how deadly he looked, and the command Kingpin gave him.
The minute I make a friend that's a girl... Of course I lose them.
Miles sniffles, rubbing his nose and then gasps in shock as a subway train comes racing towards him. He instinctively jumps, turning around and then sticking to the top of the subway, gripping on for dear life.
When the subway train goes off the tracks where Miles was, his legs stopped sticking and now he was dangling from the top of the subway. Prowler was standing there by himself, and Miles saw no blood on his claws or any bits of white, black, or pink anywhere. Gwen was gone.
If it weren't for the terror that Miles was just dangling there, he relaxed, knowing Gwen got away. Then, Prowler seemed to pause as he opened his claw. Miles panicked, trying to get his hands free. He kept turning back to see Prowler, and he was just standing there.
"Stop sticking!" he urged his hands and then, his hands finally got unstuck. He turned back at the Prowler and tried to catch his breath.
"Miles?" The Prowler said in a glitched out voice, making his voice obviously male. Or maybe female. Miles couldn't tell. Miles then became tense.
"H-How do you know my name?" Miles said as he stood there in fear.
Run, you idiot, RUN. His head screamed at him but he stood there, his feet planted to the ground.
Prowler was silent, and then, noise from a train sounded like it was coming near them.
"Just run. I'll tell them I couldn't find you and I ran off. I won't tell them about your lady friend either," Prowler said as he looked at Miles once and then zoomed off.
Then, the light of the subway train was coming hurtling towards him. Miles then ran quickly, seeing the light of the subway getting closer and closer to Miles. Miles quickly jumped to the side, rolling onto the floor, a few people moved out of his way as he scrambled up and ran. He ran to the entrance of the subway train, running up the stairs until he reached the entrance. Miles then sat against the wall and tried to catch his breath.
His head was pounding and his heart was hammering in his chest. His lip burned and his head hurt from the bruise.
"I need to find Gwen," Miles said, whispering to himself, checking his cracked phone as then so many thoughts ran through his head.
Why did Prowler know who I am?
I just saw a person freaking DIE.
Where's Gwen?
Is she dead? Wait no, she can't be dead, Prowler literally told me she got away.
I hope she's safe.
AW CRUD, It's almost morning!
Screw school right now, there's so much going on...
Miles tucked his head into his legs as he tried to wrap his head around what he was going to do.
