Long ago, the world was so different. Yet, it suffered from the same problems. For thousands of years, the world was lead and ruled by bending. Bending, the ability to control and bend an element. The elements were that of Water, Earth, Air, and Fire. Bending brought upon many great things. Even great problems, such as an abuse of power, easier lives for some, while broken dreams for others, wealth influx, separations of classes even more so, and segregation between those who could bend the elements and those who could not. The leaders were often those with either great bending abilities or those of royal blood. Yet, in today's present society, bending is completely wiped away. No one can even remember it as a part of history. The difference being only 500 years or so, and a decision by a certain powerful person. This person was known as the Avatar. The peacekeeper of the world, one meant to bring balance. As the Avatar, he wielded and had total control of all four elements. Even after the four separate elemental nations were brought together in harmony, peace didn't last. He decided that it was time to take bending away for good, that way society could unite together and stop fighting. So, he did just that, and the world got better.
But now, the world is run by quirks. Ones worth being determined by if they have a quirk or not. Quirks came into the world about 200 years ago. Just like when the end of bending came, quirks were not met with great appreciation. Many wanted to punish those with a quirk, to keep them from using them. Ironically, this time it was the ones with power being fought against. Although, as years passed, the population was majorly quirked. About 80/20%, while back in the day the bending was about 35/65%. Now, 200 years after the first quirk came into existence, being without one can surely mean an early death. Society basically deems one's worth based on if one possesses a quirk and/or it's type. Some were mutations of some kind, while others allowed you to levitate stuff or change your hair color. You could be labeled to a side, either that of a citizen, villain, or hero. That is now how society works, they are in the age of heroes. Each country has their own number 1 hero, a symbol to represent their lands peace. Just as the Avatar was for the bending nations. But if you don't have a quirk, you will be seen as worthless. That's how this all begins really. With one little quirkless boy, who dreams of becoming a hero without any power, with a society who looks down on him.
His name is Izuku Midoriya, a just recently diagnosed quirkless kid. No one seems to be sticking by him at the moment. Losing his best friend, while being given a cruel nickname by him as well. His dream basically broken by those around him, telling him to give up. His family, his best friend, his doctor. Even his mother, who still loves him, could only say that she was sorry when he asked if he could be a hero. Izuku felt his world crumbling, was there truly no one who was going to be there for him? What he didn't know was that someone was watching him, but that was from a whole other world.
(From the Spirit World)
???: "I see. Maybe he'll be the one to restore balance. I'll have to convince the others first to train him as well. Let's see how he handles this world for the next three years. Will society break him, or will his spirit remain pure and strong?! I wish you luck Izuku Midoriya. I'll be watching over you, I hope you can prove me right." 'Who to start with?'
