Book1:Ch2: The Avatar Returns

Aang: *smirks* "Well, long ago, long even before quirks. There was a unique type of power that ran the world. It was known as bending, which is simpler terms means; the ability to control one of the main four elements, bending it to your will. The Avatar, a universally chosen person, destined from birth the take upon their title and role. The Avatar is the one who is meant to bring peace and balance to the world. With such an important job, the Avatar is gifted many special abilities. Such as the ability to bend all four elements, and the ability to enter something called the Avatar state in which they would have complete mastery of the four elements."

Izuku: *In awe of everything he's hearing* "C-COOL!... Does that mean you can use the elements? How are you so young? Why have I never heard of bending then? W-wait, I'm going to be the A-Avatar, how?"

Aang: *lets out a little chuckle* "Yes, I can use all the elements. Truth be told, right now you're in a mirrored version of earth in the spirit world. Something a bunch of us worked on. It allows spirits to exist alongside the beauty of earth and its people. That's why I look so young. I usually look around the age of 40. But when I died and entered the spirit world, I stopped aging. As well as being in tune with the spirit world and a previous Avatar. I have a bit of pull in the spirit world. Those that have a natural or learnt connection to the spirit world will have many benefits within it. Hence why I look like I'm 12. Plus, I thought you might be scared less by a kid. Now, for why you've never heard or seen any sign of bending. Well, kind of like how there were wars fought for those who hated quirks, and those who wanted to use their quirks freely. The same thing happened back then. Yet bending did not win out. Back then bending seemed to only bring trouble and separation between the people. So, I took everyone's bending away. Making it so that no more benders could be born. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, and I've fought a war against an entire country for peace at the age of 15 and was face to face with a dragon. Lastly, yes Izuku. I want to make you the next Avatar. I want you to live your dream of being a hero. I had brought peace to the world once, though it didn't last. It might even get worse in the future. I believe that you Izuku, can save the world!"

Izuku: *amazed that he answered all of his questions and looking at him like he's a god* 'I can save the world, I can be a hero?' "A-are you sure, I'm the right person for this?"

Aang: "Of course, like I said. I have been watching you grow Izuku, you are strong. I believe that you can master the elements and achieve your dreams and more."

Izuku: *Cries slightly and hugs Aang* "T-Thankyou!"

Aang: *Hugs him back and whispers to him* "It's no problem at all. But- (Izuku looks up to him wiping his eyes) Are you going to be ready to go through what it means to be the Avatar. It'll be a lot harder for you than it was any other Avatar."

Izuku: "...Why?"

Aang: "Well, when I took bending away. The access to the bending of elements, the spirit world and the Avatar cycle were all cut from the world. So, I have come to the conclusion that it will take you about two years to master each element, if taught by a master. Which means, by the time you go to U.A. you will be working on your bending. As well as anything else within that plan of yours."

Izuku: "Woah, my mom is gonna freak. I already have a stacked schedule."

Aang: "Don't worry about that. You will practice bending for one hour a day, until room opens up. Like in the summer for instance and during breaks, when you have more time. Plus, once you pick up bending with one element, the understanding and principles of the others will come easier to you. All of this will make up for the time deficit. Now, for the real question. Which element do you want to start with?" *Asks excitedly*

Izuku: "Hmmm- um. I-... What is your favorite?"

Aang: "Oh, well it's Air bending. I was originally born in the western air temple, born an Air bending monk. Yet, I was also chosen to be the Avatar. So even though I can use all the elements to equal mastery, I tend to fall into using air the most."
