Chapter 4

Ash had come out of thought and had finally made the decision "Okay I've decided." He looked over to Goh for reassurance and Goh gave a silent nod to reassure him of his decision. "Okay Goh can you come here real quick?" Ash asked. "Well I'm already in here but I can come closer if you want to whisper something on my ear." Goh said and Ash nodded back in return. Goh scoched closer to Ash just in whisper range and Ash whispered to Goh "Can you help me explain but first figure out how to make her  make the promises please?" And Goh whisper back "Of course buddy are you ready to tell her?" Ash just sat there for a minute debating then he gave Goh a little nod and the look on his face said Goh should start. "Okay Chole look the thing is um I don't know exactly how to say this," Goh said "Promise you won't make fun of me or tell anyone else." Ash asked clearly scared with a pleading look in his eyes. "I promise." Chole responded clear as day but also now extremely worried. "Okay here it goes," Ash stated "Recently I've  been feeling a little" Ash gulped still unsure of what was about to happen "homesick." Ash finished and the moment he did Chole burst out laughing saying  "Only babies get homesick." And Goh was joining Chole saying that's what he truly thought about it he was just being nice. Ash was about to cry when suddenly he woke up panting and very frightened. He was on his bed and it was just after normal dinner time and Goh had just come through the doorway with two plates of food. "Woah buddy are you okay? You look really scared." Goh said a little panicked as well. "Huh, ya I'm fine, just a nightmare. What happened last thing I remember I was in Drizzile's old cave." Ash said calming down a little bit.

"Oh yeah, " Goh said "You suddenly fainted and we got worried so we brought you into the lab and told them what had happened." "How much did you tell them?" Ash said very panicked. "Relax dude just relax all we told them is that you suddenly passed out while playing with Pikachu, the story was that you started to get flush and pale after laying with Pikachu for a couple minutes and as soon as you sat down you passed out, anyways here's some water you seem really freaked out and you're really dehydrated, which is why you passed out on top of being scared." Goh said calmly as he handed Ash the cup of water that was on Ash's bedside table. Ash drank still really freaked out from the dream, sweating and almost on the verge of tears as he thought of the dream. "Okay dude do wanna tell me what happened?" Goh said calmly trying to keep Ash from crying because Goh could see the tears forming. "Huh? What do you mean what happened like in the dream or why I passed out?" Ash asked, confused. "I'll take either or both if your willing." Goh told Ash. "Well it's sort of a long story." Ash said, still pretty shaken. "Well good thing we have all night then." Goh said with a smile on his face. Ash told him the whole story and ate dinner at the same time Ash told him that he was debating in his head whether or not to tell Chole and how the decision overwhelmed him and scared him which is what he thought had caused the fainting as well as the dehydration. After Ash had finished with the story of what he thought caused him to faint, Chole walked past the room and saw that Ash was awake so she ran to grab her dad to check Ash out. Ash and Goh saw her so they decided to stop talking and focus on just eating their dinner.

A minute later professor Cerise came running into check on Ash asking a ton if questions like "what do you remember? Do you know what happened? Dehydration alone couldn't have caused this were you scared or something? Has anything like this ever happened before?" He was going to continue when Goh said "Stop, you're overwhelming him, he just woke up and if you're going to ask a ton of questions at least let him answer before you ask another one." Professor Cerise then said "Okay, Ash can you answer the questions I've asked already please?" "Sure Professor," Ash responded "Let's see I don't remember much other than playing with Pikachu and I know I fainted but not much else, I don't know what else could have caused it, and ya well sort of one time when I was traveling back in the Kalos region I was having a battle with Alan and I suddenly passed out." Professor  Cerise was interested "So what was happening in that battle Ash?" "Oh um lets see Ash greninja had just come fully out of the water that surrounds it normally for one of the first times and we were battling pretty intensely and we were really in sync then I couldn't move and I just passed out." Ash explained. "Ah huh I see wait what is Ash Greninja?" Professor Cerise asked looking pretty curious. "Yea I'm curious two." Chole said "Me as well." Goh said. "Well Ash Greninja is a little but hard to explain but I had a Greninja that I had raised from a froakie when I was traveling the Kalos region and whenever we got super in sync Greninja just sort of turned into Ash Greninja, it really only happened while we were battling." Ash explained tiredly. "Interesting." Professor Cerise said then glanced over to the clock, "Wow it's getting late, we should all get some rest, maybe we can pick this up tomorrow." Professor Cerise said. "Okay." Goh and Chole responded in unison, Ash was already half asleep. "Alright everyone lights out, goodnight." Professor Cerise said as he exited the room.
