Chapter 5 - " Oops! My bad"

"Hey Shannon" 
"Um...Hi?" I replied. Jace never spoke to me in school, I dint even think he knew I existed.
"So, about yesterday " He said a smirk present on his face.
Does he ever stop smirking?
I raised an eyebrow.
"You were so into Aaron that you dint notice me standing next to him." Jace said putting his hand on his chest, faking a hurt expression.
A tint of red made its way onto my face.
"I wasn't into him, I was drunk so I dint notice you I guess." I said trying to cover the blush on my face. But I failed terribly, he has seen me blushing by then.
"Really? I see you blushing " he said smirking yet again.
He turned to head back to car but stopped midway
"And Shannon, you told him he was cute. See you around."
Even with his back towards my face I know that the idiot was smirking.
Forget about a tint of red, I was as red as a tomato.

I woke up early the next morning which was not usual. I had three hours to kill and that's when my amazing brain got an amazing idea. I smirked, Netflix time!
After three episodes of Gossip Girl I started getting ready for school. Times like this I feel like making an effort to look pretty.
I put on a loose floral top which I tucked in faded blue jeans and matched it with brown shoes and threw my school bag on.
I curled my hair and threw it on a pony tail and applied a stroke of mascara to make my eyes pop.
I felt presentable when I looked at myself in the mirror.
 
I grabbed a bagel for breakfast and closed the door to my house and waited for Kim to arrive.
To kill the boredom I took my phone out of my pocket and texted my dad.
I miss my dad. He comes home every weekend but I still miss him on the week days. He's always so busy in work.

" What have you done to my I-don't-like-getting-dressed-Shannon? " KIm gasped .
"I just woke up early today."

So far so good. I was sitting with Kim, Sara, Reed (tagging along with her) in the cafeteria.
"We are so sorry Shanny, we shouldn't have tried to hook you up with that bastard without making sure what kind of a guy he is. " Sara said.
"It's fine, it wasn't all your fault." I said. Sara and Kim sighed in relief that they are now forgiven. It wasn't their fault, I should have known that boys do not date girls like me. Every time I give it a shot I end up getting hurt. I sighed and pulled out from my seating position to buy a bottle of juice.
I saw Sabrina along with one of her minions Lisa walking towards me a smirk evident on their faces.
"Hey Shannon " Lisa said.
My eyes were on the plate of food I was holding. Never in my life the cafeteria food of my school felt so interesting.
"Heard about what happened last night. I'm so sorry about that sweety. How did you even think that he likes you?" She said smirking and left the place.
I quickly ran out of the cafeteria ignoring my name being called by three of my friends.
On my way I bumped into someone.

"I'm so very sorry. " and ran in the direction of my next class.
I felt so agitated, anger making its way up my body. Why am I such a coward? Why dint I defend myself when she said that?

 Because what she said was true my inner mind told me.

After the school was finished I immediately went home and took a shower longer than necessary.
 It makes me feel like a load of weight drained along with the running water.

Next morning I received a text from Kim saying that it's time for Sabrina to payback.
I just rolled my eyes and shook my head. I don't want to make myself a laughing stock again.
I'm sick of being Sabrina's idea of fun.
When I entered the cafeteria I saw Ashley talking to Sara.
I approached them, " Hey Sar" I said throwing a questioning look towards Ashley.
" Hey Shan, Ashley wanted to talk to you " Sara said.
I took a seat and motioned my hand telling Ashley to speak.
"Um, I know what Sabrina, Lisa and I did to you was terrible. "
I was about to speak but she cut me off.
" Please let me explain first. I'm sorry about that Shannon. I'm sorry for not stopping Sabrina and Lisa from doing those things. I had no other option other than play along with them. They were the only friends I had. But I guess I was wrong, they never treated me as their friend, they just used me. They blamed me for every mistake they had done."
She said almost at the verge of crying.
I almost felt pity for her.
"Sabrina is a bitch, what else can you expect from her.The most important thing is you have realised your mistake and left her side."
"Guess I'll be a loner from now on " She said.
Sara scoffed. "We can't let that happen! I mean yeah you bullied my best friend but now you are a changed person. I have an idea, why don't you join us?" Sara said.
I smiled at Ashley telling her that we'd love to have her as our friend.
She smiled and mumbled an okay.
"Thanks guys, you are too good for me." Ash said.
" Now, about Sabrina." Sara said.
Ashley smirked and popped out of her seat and grabbed a plate of spaghetti.
This is going to be fun, she was upto something.
She walked towards Sabrina's table.
"What's up looser?" Sabrina said "Wanted to apologise to us?"
Sabrina and Lisa giggled.
"No, actually I wanted to do this" Ash said throwing the spaghetti on Sabrina's and Lisa's hair.
"You Fucking bitch! " Sabrina yelled.
"Oops! My bad, sorry. " Ash said. The whole cafeteria was now laughing.
Ashley winked at me and I laughed in response.
Maybe she wasn't that bad at all.
