Daffodil Flower

"Daffodils are a springtime staple that signifies rebirth and new beginnings."

"Please! I think I'm seeing things. You have to come here, y/n." Kate almost yelled through the phone. She was terrified and i could tell. Her voice was croaky, she half shouted through the phone with a brittle, aching voice. she spoke in a hurry, like someone was holding a gun up to her head, making her tell lies. She seemed to feel.. overwhelmed. "Fine. I'll come." I said. I felt bad, Kate was a close family friend and i knew what her and her mother were going through. Kate sighed, bringing out a loud breath I could hear. "Thank you so much, you don't know how much this means to me." Kates faced light up with cheerfulness. All I could do was give a small smile to the phone.

I sighed as I hung up the phone. The calm, fading sunset shined brightly through the white laced curtains. The long flowing fabric made the sunset seem a little darker. I stood up, walking to the window and pushing away the curtains to reveal a bright but gorgeous sunlight. I could feel the heat from the sun, as I embraced it, the worry came crawling back filling my stomach, then my lungs, all the way up to my throat. I couldn't breathe, there was a huge lump. If I even said a word, I might puke. . I looked around the living room, realizing what I had just agreed too.

This trip just might make me regret everything.

I just completed packing my bag, and suit case. I'm not sure how long I was going to stay there but I assumed I could just do laundry, meaning I would wear the same clothes over and over again. It didn't bother me, to the least, I was worried what mrs. Grose thought about me coming. Kate had always said that she had an attitude and was often very judgmental. If I was being honest, I trusted myself enough to not care what she thinks. At all. Well, hopefully part of that was true.

There was a slight honk coming from the bottom floor. I jumped at the sudden noise erupting from the silent house. I grabbed all my luggage and rushed down the elevator to the front of the apartments complex I was staying in. I had no money, and was still in school. My parents had been always kind, but after my dad died.. my mom stayed distant.

My mother was the sweetest. She had long beautiful hair, eyes that glowed a bright shine when she saw something that made her happy. She also had the best fashion out of the family. If only, she was her old self. I knocked myself out of my thoughts as I ran to the car door, swinging it open and tossing my luggage inside to the farthest seat. I sat down next to my bags, and pulled closed the car door. I buckled my seat belt and awaited the long ride to the gloomy, but elegant Fairchild estate.

I was sound asleep until I heard the car pull up to the gravel driveway. It made crunching sounds as I lifted my head from my hand, looking out the window to see the stunning castle like house glowing in the moonlight. The car came to a halt, signaling for me to get out. I opened the door and stood up. I bent over to pick up my luggage, doing so made me get this weird feeling, this feeling like someone was watching me. I grabbed my luggage, and stood up as fast as I possibly could. Turning around and looking at every inch I could see in the dim moonlight. My hands tightened the grip on the luggage as I saw someone walk to what seemed like a maze. I was DEFINITELY not going after them. I wasn't that stupid!

I sped walked up to the front door and knocked twice. A loud creek came from the door as I saw a small girl peek from the crack. "Hello? I'm y/n, is this the Fairchild estate?" I asked, already knowing my answer. I wanted to be nice, so she wouldn't just slam the door in my face. I looked up from the girl who was now smiling, a cheerful smile. There was the dark figure- again- it had a lanky frame and curly black hair. My eyes widened and the grip on the bags made my hands sweaty.
