Chapter 17

You poked your head out of the bathroom and saw John on the phone. He was in deep thought so you waited for him to finish.
He ended the call quickly before looking up at you, 'Lady Jane contacted us', he said flatly and your blood ran cold, 'oh shit wh- what're you going to-', he stops your immediately, 'I'm taking you to Winston'.

'But-'.

'I can't risk you getting in trouble like last time'.

Oh... 

You nodded slowly, 'alright, whatever you say', John seemed to pause before shaking his head, 'make sure you're ready, Winston's waiting for us'.

Winston Scott was his name and he was the man behind the making. He was the reason The Continental was here and he protected everyone.
His office was quite large, larger than a usual office that's for sure. John knocked on the polished wood door and Winston looked up from his paperwork. He gave you a warm smile, pushing the paperwork aside before turning his attention back to John, his smile was gone in seconds.

'Lady Jane said something? What did she say?'

'She wants to see me... And she wants to see (Y/N) as well'.

'John I-'.

John inturrupts Winston quickly, 'I don't want (Y/N) out there with me, she's staying here. I don't want to risk-', he stopped mis sentence, 'she needs to stay here'.

'John, I don't understand why you're not thinking straight here. But (Y/N) needs to go with you, we have no choice. We need to know what Lady Jane wants to talk about'.

You could see that John didn't like the idea and you sure as hell didn't like it either, but Winston, which was fucking annoying, was right. You had to go and see Lady Jane.

 I mean... She thinks John and I are lovers and... We did kind of have sex...

You try not to think about the situation that just happened... But you also can't help but smile.

'John we don't have a choice. I know she's not playing fair'.

'I know'.

You hear John mumble. You were afraid to see her again seeing as the last time you faced her she was wanting to kill you.

She still does wanna kill you.

Winston's phone went off and he raised his hand to silence the both of you. When he answered you could see his features tighten. He didn't like whoever was on the phone. For a few moments he pulled the reciever away from him, 'it's her', he pressed a button on the phone which you now knew was the loud speaker.

'Jane'.

John said faltly and her laugh sent shivers down your spine, 'well, that's a lovely hello to me John. You used to be so much ni-'.

'What do you want Jane?'

'Well, well first off I want Winston out of the room, now. I want your partner and you alone'.

John motioned for Winston that it was alright and the man left the two of you alone though you know he was only standing just outside the door.

'He's gone, now what do you want'.

'I want you John. And I think you know that, yes we have been hotile for quite some time, but that was the whole thrill of it'.

He didn't even look at you, and you understood. The relationship between the two of you had changed, drastically.

'Where do you want to meet?'

'Donna Park, where we first me'.
