Chapter 24

They hadn't told you what the plan was. Of course, they weren't going to, because John didn't want you too involved. He just wanted you to be safe. But you didn't like that, you weren't the damsel in distress, that's not how you worked. Listening to the plan really got you nowhere. They had to go to great lengths to get to certain points and you knew that you weren't going to be able to do that.

Find some way around it.

You know John is going to yell at you forever one day when he finds out that you're trying to get to Lady Jane as well.

But what he doesn't know won't kill him... Right?

You look out the window to see the cityscape, one day you'd be able to walk out there with no care in the world, with your arm interlocked with John's.

'(Y/N)?'

You look over your shoulder to see John standing in the doorway, 'Marcus and I are going, so I want you to-'.

'Stay here and be safe'.

You pull the blinds across, 'please be safe John', you mumble and you go over and wrap your arms around his wait. He doesn't hesitate to recorporate.

'I'll be back sooner than you know'.

He kisses you gently before leaving you alone in the room once again, god, how am I going to do this?
After just speaking to him briefly, you had almost changed your mind. You rake your fingers through your hair and sigh, 'Jesus, what the hell am I going to do?'

'You can come to me'.

You spin around to see who was speaking but you found no one, 'what the-', you jump when you hear the voice again.

'You can't see me, so there's no use looking'.

Wait, that voice sounds like-.

'You know who I am, and I know John has just left'.

'What do you want Jane? Where are you?'

'Look at the tv'.

You eyes wander over to the little television and you see that it's on, but the screen only showed static, 'it's on, so what're you-'.

'I can communicate to you through there'.

'How-'.

'I have my ways'.

'What do you want?'

'I want to meet you again- I know we didn't get off on the right foot, but I don't want to kill you'.

'You want to use me as bait, don't you?'

You hear her laugh, 'god, don't put that idea in my head, no. I want you to see what I'm seeing and maybe you can get John to join us'.

'Us? You mean you and your henchmen?'

Again, you hear her laugh, 'no, you and I. Trust me, when you see what I have to show, you won't hesitate'.

You were starting to grow rather curious now and you take a step towards the tv, 'I- I guess I can come see you'.

What are you doing you idiot! You're walking straight into her trap!

But... Maybe you'll be able to take her down? John had a close connection with her which meant that he might go easy on her. You look at yourself in the mirror, let's see what you can do.

'Where can I meet you?'

'No need to worry about that. I'm right outside your room'.

The knock on the door made you freeze.
