The dressmakers came next week to take our measurements to make the dresses for the ball.

They will have so much work, I thought while the dressmaker measured the lenght of my arm with her tape measure in my room.

"Dark green will look good on her, it will highlight her white skin." She stated.
Her helper wrote down the important datas in a small notebook.

I couldn't really image how will I look with such a dark colour but this lady seemed to be a real professional.

On the next weeks we spent every dance class practicing for the ball, at etiquette we practised how to stand nicely in the corner of the room.

The dresses came some day after.
My dress was truly beautiful but I promised myself that I will only wear it on the day of the ball.
However, Melany and Caroline tried them on as soon as they got them.

"This pink is so beautiful!"
Melany admired herself in front of the mirror.

We gathered in her room.
The girl's room was the most welcoming, so she often asked me and Caroline to stay there.

"Yeah, it looks so good on you!"
Caroline cheered.
"You still don't want to try it on?"
She turned to me.

I shook my head.
"Don't you want to show it to us at least?" Melany was still in front of the mirror.
I shrugged.
"But I should go now, I have to sleep."
I said and headed out of the room.

I just realised that they were following me when I wanted to close the door behind me.

I looked at them qustioningly.
"We accompany you to your room."
Melany smiled at me.
I didn't even try to say no to them, so I let them come with me.

We walked down the stairs while Melany had some problem with her skirt.

"Why they don't teach us how to don't fall down on the stairs with such a big skirt?"
She got pissed since she almost fell down about three times now.
I nodded while I was holding her with all my strength.

"Actually, they teach it in the few days before the ball. It is saddening that they use the least energy for the most important things."
Caroline helped Melany from the other side.

We successfully made our way down to the floor where my room was.

I walked to my door but Melany was faster with pushing down the door handle and she ran inside my room.

"Hey!"
I yelled after her.
"I knew you had other plans with accompaning me!"
Caroline laughed and she sneaked inside too.
I sighned and also went in.

Melany reaved my whole wardrobe in just a few seconds.
She slowed down a little when she saw that certain dark green fabric, then she continued throwing out my things from my closet because she didn't realise that it would be my dress for the ball.

"The green is it."
I gave her a little clue leaning to the wall.
"This?"
She pointed at the dress. She seemed a little dissapointed.
"Yeah."

I bent down to start to collect that she threw around the room.
"Isn't it a little too dark?"
Caroline looked at it.
"For the youngers the brighter colours are the proper ones."
"The seamstress chose it."
I shrugged.

Honestly I was kind of afraid too that how will people look at me when I show up in this colour. This was one of the reasons why I didn't want to try it on before the ball.

"But it is really time to sleep."
I started to push them towards the door.

When I could finally get them out I sighed a big and leaned my back on the door.
I looked around the room.
