At the Dorm, the life went by the same.
But the girls were less excited about the Selling which was closer and closer with each day.

I was scared, too.
What if I won't be sold at the end, what if the last lord who raises a hand at me won't be Christopher? What if I have to be a wife of a complete stranger?

Those few weeks between the Summer Ending ball and the Selling went by really quickly.
We barely came back from the ball and we had to go to the Selling.

On the day of the Selling, we woke up early, very early.
The Selling was an all-day event as the principal had told us.

I was trying to get in my dress when somebody knocked on my door.
"Come in." I said.

To my not surprised state Caroline opened the door carefully, but her carefulness wasn't long because Melany pushed her away and immediately jumped on my bed.

They were both already dressed up in their dresses made for the Selling.

"Careful, Melany. You'll ruin that expensive material." Caroline laughed on the scene.
She stepped inside and closed the door.

"Can I help with the corset?" She recommended.
"Yes, please." I looked at her.
She came and helped me.

"It's so boring that we always have to wear the same dress. A lot of big events and you can't even wear what you want." Melany complained still lying on my bed.

I agreed with her, and I think all the girls in the Dorm agreed, too. I wasn't that picky about clothes, but I have to say it, I started to get bored of this dark green color.

"Oh, Aida where did you go on the ball? About half of the event, you went to dance, and you didn't come back. Something happened?" Caroline asked, finished with tying my corset.

"I met with the prince and at the end he showed me around in the palace." I shrugged.

I made the last steps to make sure the silk skirt looked perfect.

"With the prince? How lucky." Melany was envious and happy for me at the same time.

The bell ended our conversation which signaled us to go to the main hall.

As it was on the day of the ball, the principal told us some important things about the Selling.

"On the Selling you will walk through the Selling Hall after each other. All your names, your rank and some of your virtues will be told. before and after the walk you will wait in a waiting room." The aged lady looked at us strictly while she was speaking.
"After they tell all the important things about you the bidding starts. You have to stop walking and wait for the result. After the result, that you are sold or not, you go back to the waiting room and the sold girls have to wait for their hand raiser lords to arrive and bring them to their new home. Who are not sold go back to the Dorm with the chariots.

I looked around. Everybody listened carefully maybe just the girls who were on the Selling before were listening less.

"You probably know, because you have to show up on the Sellings from the age of twelve, but I would like to mention it, if somebody forgot it since last year. If there are more than one hand raiser and none of them is willing to give up on the girl, which is common, the girl can choose between the two or more lords, as our prince Lior idea says. At this point the lord who wasn't chosen by the girl do not have the rights to be furious or to make any kind of revenge."

I sighed. It's good that there's a law like this.

The principal seemed to finish her speech, so everyone started to talk with each other.
