Melany Woodedcampestral's funeral was held a week after her death.
The old lord, who became the girl's last hand raiser, found the preparation hard and too tiring for his age so we, with Christopher and Caroline too, helped with it.So now we are all standing here in mournful black clothes, listening to the priest telling his speech.
Naturally, I cried, the prince caressed my back. I watched as the coffin was put in the hole and was buried. When it was time to put the flowers, I gave her a bouquet too.The day after the funeral in the morning went by quietly.
Later weeks passed and I still couldn't get used to the fact that my best friend wasn't with me anymore.
But the preparation for Jasmin's execution also started.
Christopher visited the town's prison day by day to interrogate the girl, but she didn't say too much.
Hoping that the girl would say more the prince took me there once, maybe my presence makes her mad enough to start speaking. The plan worked, as soon as I stepped in her cell, she started to yell at me and after some question she told everything.
"Why did you want to kill us?" I asked.
"Very simple, your little friend told you something that she shouldn't have, and it made the investigation after us to start again."
Jasmin was still mad, but she realized that she only hurts herself if she's not telling anything now.
But the craziness could be heard out of her voice today too. She waited for her death scarily calmly, which was going to come soon."You knew it from Eliana, didn't you?"
She nodded.
"Where were you on the day of your companions' execution?"
"I watched it." She responded.
Suddenly, without any previous changes in emotions she started to cry. The change in her mood really surprised me.
"I watched as my companions' heads were rolling away from their bodies in their own blood, and Felix died there, and I couldn't do anything, but I loved him. Everybody thought it was just a marriage in interest of the conspiracy to go well but I truly loved him. Even Eliana didn't believe it when she is my best friend, she even hid me when you searched for me just out of kindness but she didn't believe me."
The girl started to cry hysterically. But now everything was clear. She wanted to take revenge on us because of her love.
"And he wouldn't have had to die if you didn't horn in everything. Especially that little blonde, thank God I managed to kill her."
To her last sentence she got a slap on the face from me.
"You can't speak about her like that."
Now I started to get mad as well, luckily the prince tried to calm me down by caressing my back.
"I can't? But I'm right. You are all dumb and blind, you are so blinded by the money and the rank that you don't even notice what's going on around you. We could prepare for half a year without anybody noticing us, everybody knew what we were up to except the nobles. You are all blind and dumb you don't even notice the biggest threat is just in front of your noses."
What is she thinking? What threat?
"What are you talking about?" I asked confused."See? You didn't even notice, you have no idea, you know nothing about what's happening to the king."
"What?"
What is she even talking about?"You didn't even notice how greedy is the emperor? You didn't even notice the most noticeable? The queens' death?"
I did notice the latter, but I didn't want to butt in.
