As I mentioned in the beginning, in the fists A/N this story is based on a dream I had a few years ago, of course that dream wasn't as exciting as this story turned out and was very different. The only thing that matches in these two is the idea of the Selling. I took plenty of time thinking about the plot for about 2 or 3 years. I had some drafts and I think you might be interested in those, so I'll write them down for you here:
Draft 1: The Selling was my only fix point and that the king will be a bad guy with the prince being the good guy. I thought it would be fun that after the Selling, when the truth is revealed the king kills Aida's parents but decides to send her on a ship to the ocean to die there because he wanted her to suffer more but the prince, somehow saves her at the end.
Draft 2: There was a weird idea of mine that Aida wouldn't even be her parent's daughter, but he had an older brother who was actually her father. (Please tell me you're glad that I didn't stick with this plan at the end.)
Draft 3: I firstly didn't plan her to end up in the north, alone in a castle, I didn't have an idea instead though. But the thought of her alone in the north was a whole different story idea and at the end I decided to combine the two. I hope I did a good job.
Draft 4: Firstly, I wanted this story to have a sad ending, but I just couldn't write a sad ending.
Draft 5: I thought a lot about how the plot will go on while she is in the north and then came the idea of Caroline's letters. I also thought so much on how to make this story more exciting and then came that why shouldn't I arrange that the eastern kingdom attacks them.
I might have mentioned this before, but I first wrote this story in Hungarian, my native language and then decided to translate it, so the English in this story is not my best since I have a hard time translating the Hungarian prepositions to English. Also, I didn't plan this story to be a fanfiction at first. The prince who at the end became Chan was first named Lior but then I changed Lior to be his brother. I might have only mentioned it once in the story, but the king's name is Dilon. I also thought a lot about the names to match their personalities and still be fancy, suiting the medieval era of this story. As you know Aida didn't use her real name first and I planned that she knew she doesn't use her real name and her real name would have been Norina Pearlvalley but at the end I decided to not change the Aida name.
This might have been a question for you that what era this story is set in because I didn't really make it clear I think but it is set in a medieval age, around the 1500s/1600s/1700s I don't really know.
Oh, and something you will probably like is the fact that I'm also quite good at drawing (promoting my insta acc: @/lee.skzetches) I drew some clothes and floorplans of how I imagined their ballgowns and rooms. (Please ignore the random writing around the dresses, it's in Hungarian so you probably won't understand them. At least you can check my handwriting😌)
