The only thing that I love about myself.
Cee's POV
"Cee, I hate you," were Chrissa's first words once I unlocked my office and entered, leaving the door open for her to follow inside and shut the door.
I smirked, sitting on my leather chair. "Why, oh why is that, my dear Chrissa?" I mocked, amusement seeping through.
"I'm not in the mood to talk to a guy who caused this ruckus so early in the morning!" She seethed. I grinned at her never-ending hate for people who disrupts her sleep.
"You still bear a grudge for those kind of people, huh," I shook my head with a laugh.
"Of course, I do!" She dramatically throws up her hands in the air in exasperation.
"But you love me," I pointed out. I've done multiple things to Chrissa to wake her up and I get into a lot of hellish paybacks from her but they were all worth it.
She grunted, speechless at the accusation. "B-But," she stuttered, "he flirted. Cee, he flirted with me!"
My eyebrows knitted in confusion. "I see no problem."
"He is not my mate!" She whisper-yelled dramatically. I rolled my eyes at her dramatics.
"Yeah and Peter wasn't, either. The guy was just flirting with you, not actually doing you." I retorted. She narrowed her eyes at me.
I raised an eyebrow at her and we locked our gaze at each other with intensity.
She's trying to challenge us, Cheddar growls, our Alpha dominance begging to be released.
I know but what irks me is that she isn't usually like this--
"You know that I loved Peter at some point," she suddenly says without backing down.
"You only liked him. You just haven't met your mate yet. That's why you use the word 'love'." I said in a chilling tone.
"And who are you to tell me what I feel? I know what I feel, Cee. And as far as I know, you haven't met yours either so I don't know how you know about love," she hissed.
I didn't want her to see how her last comment bothered me so I forced myself to answer her. "I never said anything about knowing anything about love. It's just the way werewolves were created." Well... maybe not all.
"That is exactly one of the things I hate about mates," she muttered angrily. She's exactly like Peter... more or less, I guess.
"So, I'm guessing that you're bitter, Chrissa?" I eyed her straightforwardly, releasing some of my Alpha dominance in my tone and gaze.
Unable to challenge me further, she honestly replied, "It's just that I want to meet him already. To know it all. By all, I mean the mate stuff, how it works and such." She looked down sheepishly, squirming.
I nodded. "I can give you permission to travel around in search for your mate," I offered. This is the only thing I can do to help her. To let her feel the only thing I wouldn't be able to.
She weighs her options before looking at me, a cheeky smile forming on her lips, "Nah, I think I can be the damsel in distress for a while longer." I laughed.
