Anthony's POV
"I'm surprised you're here." I said as I looked my sister in the eyes.
I never really talked to her much. We didn't get along.
" So am I, but you and I need to discuss something." She replied. She pushed past me and walked into my apartment. She headed straight to my living room and took a seat on my living room couch.
" Jesus Maggie, what do you want? What could you possibly be here for?" I asked her.
" Look, I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this for Marissa. She's been so screwed up in the head ever since you two broke up." She began.
" hold on. What are you talking about?"
How did she know about me and Marissa? Did she even know?
" come on Anthony, stop playing dumb. I know you and Marissa were together. She told me a little while ago. But, I hear you're dating somebody new? Mom and dad told me."
I sighed.
" Look, so what if I'm dating somebody else? Why does it matter to you? And why does it matter to Marissa? She's the one who broke up with me. She's the one who didn't wanna be with me again. I mean I know I fucked up, but she was wanting to close the door."
" because the door shouldn't have been closed! I may not have noticed that it was you, but years ago when you two were dating, she was the happiest she's ever been. I could tell she was in love with somebody. You could see it in her eyes. I couldn't tell who it was, but I knew it was true. And then when you cheated on her, her whole world was destroyed. I wasn't sure what happened with her and that mysterious boy, but I knew something bad happened."
" OK, so what? Why are you here? You never answered my question. Why does it have anything to do with Marissa?"
" Anthony! Do you not understand? You and Marissa are supposed to be together. You make each other so happy, and you both still love each other. Do you even like this new girl that you're dating? Do you even wanna be with her?"
I didn't want to tell Maggie the truth. I didn't want to be with the new girl. I didn't care for her. But I thought that if I pushed myself into being with her, it would make transitioning and leaving and forgetting Marissa a bit easier.
Whether I ended up with this new girl or not.
" Will you just leave? you probably have nothing good to say. I don't want anything to do with this right now. Marissa closed the door, she wants to have her own life apart for me. "
" The fuck she does! You were on her mind 24/7. And I bet the same for you. You two belong together. And I want to help fix that. She's never been as happy as she was with you since you guys broke up. Yeah, it'll take a lot of work, but you guys make each other so damn happy. And as I said, I'm doing this for her, not you. I want her happy. Even if that means that you are with her. So, are you in with me or not?"
" what does this mean?"
" It means, I'm going to get you and Marissa back together."
Marissa POV
It was now Friday, and five minutes before I was leaving work. I was excited about the weekend, I was just planning on relaxing. This week has been very stressful. It's been about an entire week since Zachary came in and bought the company.
I haven't seen much of him, randomly in the hallways, and we say hello and wave. But other than that I haven't seen him. From what I heard, he's been in his office quite a lot. Speaking with other people. And dealing with the financial aspect of the company.
