Honey, I love you

The next morning Ecco dropped Lily off back at Barbara's. Lily really enjoyed herself at Alyssa's house. Jerome was hiding at Barbara's to pick up Lily. Once Ecco left the property, Jerome came out to embrace Lily. 

"DADDY!!!" "MUNCHKIN!!!" They collided together in a bear hug. Jerome has never let Lily stay over at someone else's place besides his father's, due to Lila, and Barbara's; so this was extremely nerve wracking to him. He hadn't slept the either night, awaiting a phone call from his daughter asking for him and Barbara to pick her up. 

He told her what every parent tells their child before leaving to someone's house, "Munchkin, if you ever feel uncomfortable, use this phone. Aunt Babs and my number is on there okay? Call one of us, and call me before bed. If you feel uncomfortable, just say you aren't feeling well and then call us okay?" Jerome said, trying to not show Lily his nervousness as that she was having a little anxiety attack before Ecco came to pick her up. 

"How was it sweetheart?" Jerome said, breaking the hug a little bit to see her face. "AWESOME! We went for a walk and watched so many movies! Her parents played games with us and we had the best time! But it would've been better with you and Aunt Babs." Lily says excitedly. "Wow! That's amazing sweetheart. What movies did you watch?" Jerome tried to be more present in her life and give her the attention he never received. 

"We watched Princess and the Frog, Beauty and the Beast, Monsters Inc, Frozen, Moana, Snow white, Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Shrek!" Lily says with so much happiness. "That's quite the marathon my little clown. Which one was your favourite?" "I really liked Lilo and Stitch! It reminded me of you and Aunty Babs!" Barbara awes at the sight of Jerome and Lily. She never thought of Jerome as the nourishing type, but hey, never judge a book by it's cover.

"Well, I heard that there are 3 other Lilo and Stitch movies. They're sequels to the first one. I believe Oswald maybe able to get it for you guys or I can drop them off." Barbara offers, seeing how cute Lily was being. "Really? Babs, you don't have to do that. You've done so much for us already." Jerome says, getting up to stand again. "I insist. Plus, you too should have more fun. We all know you can't take her out to do things without getting caught, this will be good for you both." Barbara debates, already knowing that Jerome would cave in since Lily started to give him the puppy dog eyes. "Okay, fine. Thanks Barbara." Jerome caves. "No problem, I'll pick them up and drop them off just outside of Pengy's so that he doesn't see me. I'll text ya when I'm there." Jerome nods and thanks Barbara again before leaving with Lily.

~Few days later~

Today is the the day, Gotham's town square will be have a little music festival, perfect for Jerome Valeska and his Legion's of Horribles to crash. As a band was playing on stage, the Legion of Horribles and some of Jerome's followers, went on stage- well except for Jervis, Johnathan, Oswald, and Victor. Oswald is knocked out on the blimp which will be dropping the insanity gas all over Gotham Square. 

The main singer turns around as Jerome is shaking his butt on stage. "Hey! What happened to my mic?" he asked. He noticed a man dancing behind him. "Hey buddy, beat it, will ya? I'm trying to work here." As soon as he said that, Jerome turned around and jumped to reveal himself to the audience. "WOO!" Jerome proceeds to kick the singer in the face and knock him out cold with the mic stand...and kill him...But that's not important. 

~Lily's POV~

Daddy had me pack everything we owned a few days ago. I knew he was going to leave again to do the bad things he tells me to never do, I was sad but understood why. Daddy may never come back again... That's why we have been having a Daddy-Daughter week all week, because he was going to leave. We made paintings, even a scrapbook for all of our memories. We also took new photos which was nice! We even put our old and new video memories into VHS tapes and CDs so that we can look at them when ever we want!

Daddy this morning though paid extra attention to me, made my favourite breakfast, got me another build-a-bear with his new voice in it. He dressed it up like him too! He told me to keep both bears so that I have him all the time now, new and old. He gave me a locket with two photos, one when we were in the circus and one of our new ones where we made funny faces.

He also gave me a VHS tape and a present, but he told me not to open to present and to only give it to Uncle Miah if I thought was best. He said that if he ever mistreated me very poorly to place the present into his office without him knowing. But I am to for sure give Uncle Miah the VHS tape if I ever move in with him. 

I guess that's why we've packed everything...

~No one's POV, but time skip to Jerome hanging off the pole~

As Jerome is holding onto the pole for dear life, while Jim puts his hand out, he looks James dead in the eyes. "Jim, make sure Lily is safe. Give her your number incase she needs you...On my will Jeremiah is her caregiver but if he doesn't want her, she goes to Barbara. Do you understand? I need my baby girl to be with people she knows, who will treat her good. God knows that if she was in an orphanage, she would be beaten or taken by one of my followers or killed. And if things don't work out, with either Babs or Jeremiah, promise me you'll take care of her." James was shocked to say the least, watching Jerome plead with teary eyes made him realize Jerome Valeska wasn't totally a monster, but a loving father. "I promise Jerome on my life that she will be safe. You have my word...But if you take my hand now, I won't arrest you. You and her can have a free ticket out of Gotham." Jerome nodded but said "I want her to remember me, but I can't let you let me walk Jimbo. Because no matter what, I sure I'll be wanted for murder somewhere else, and I can't do that to her. She has memories and her belongings with her, let her remember me for the father I was to her. Please, don't make her forget." Jim nodded. "I need you to promise Jim, this is my daughter we're talking about!" Jerome demanded. "I promise Jerome." Jim said solemnly. "Jim can you tell her one last thing for me?" "Yes..." "Tell her to never change herself like her father did, and that he loves her very much. Can you do that for me?" "I can Jerome, and I will." Jerome gave a light chuckle. "I knew I could count on you Jim. But it's my time, it was nice knowing ya. Don't break your promises. Au'revior!" Were Jerome's last words before laughing after letting go and falling onto the car...lying dead...

~A few hours later~

Jeremiah was walking past Jerome's body after talking to Bruce, he was called over by Jim. "Yes, Captain Gordan?" Jeremiah said quietly. "Jeremiah, Jerome told us as well as his will that you are now Lily's parental guardian. He wrote down for you to be the father. However, he said that if you don't want her, she will go to a friend of ours, her godmother, Barbara Kean. I know it may be too soon, but..." "I'll do it. I accept taking in Lily. She's my daughter's best friend and my niece. Maybe I can make up the wrongs I did to Jerome throughout our childhood through Lily." Jeremiah stated in a normal tone. "Well, there is some paper work to fill out, but we can come by tomorrow and discuss it but she may go home with you." Jeremiah nodded. "Where is she now?" Jim pointed towards a UHAUL van a little ways down the road. "Jerome drove the truck over with Lily before his stunt on stage. Everything she owns is in there. Our condolences Jeremiah, good night." With that Jeremiah nodded and walked towards the UHAUL.
