Now that Umbridge was gone, Draco and Greta met up with each other as much as they could carefully. They always made sure that no one followed them and that they were alone. Over time, Greta noticed that Hermione was awfully suspicious of her and would ask questions about where she was going most of the time. Greta lied every time but Hermione didn't buy it.
Besides the astronomy tower, Draco would take Greta to several broom closets that were all around the school. It seemed to be the most private spots to talk in while classes were in session.
It was the afternoon after classes had just barely ended for the day, and Greta met up with Draco in the broom closet in the hallway near the Gryffindor common room.
Draco had Greta pinned against the wall and he peppered Greta with kisses all along the neck and face. This made Greta giggle (I hate that word! Gosh 😖).
"Draco, what are you doing?"
"I just feel extra affectionate today, Gretel."
Draco tried to find nicknames to use on Greta. He thought it would be cute to try it out.
His nicknames for her were: Shorty, Gretel, Clumsy, Gigi, Kitten, and Princess.
Greta's nicknames for Draco were: Blondie, Ferret, and Dray. (She wasn't too big on coming up with a ton of nicknames.)
Greta thought it was adorable how affectionate Draco could be most days. She loved affection and felt like she couldn't live without it, even if she tried. In return to the constant kisses that she was receiving, Greta kept her arms wrapped around Draco's neck and waited for an opportunity to give Draco some kisses too.
"You're so cute," Draco chuckled. "Everything about you just reeks 'precious' and I love it."
Greta blushed. "Thank you! I think you're absolutely stunning."
"That you're right, Princess. That's what brought you to me in the first place. You just can't get enough of me."
"Stop, Draco," Greta laughed.
"It's true though. Admit it."
"Fine. You're right."
"I knew it."
Greta and Draco stared dreamily into each other's eyes before pulling each other into a sweet kiss. Greta's face was beet red and her heartbeat was racing. She wasn't used to compliments, so Draco's words meant a lot to her.
Before the two teens could move, the closet door creaked open and a small voice stuttered, "Wh-what is going on?"
Greta and Draco froze. It was Hermione and she was right outside the closet door, staring at them with her eyes wide. Quickly, Greta dragged Hermione into the closet with them.
"I can explain--" Greta began.
"What in the world are you two doing here together?!" Hermione interrupted. "Draco bullied us, Greta! He is our enemy."
"He's changed, Hermione. He really is," Greta defended. "And I love him now."
Hermione switched her attention to Draco. "What is she talking about? You'd better explain yourself."
"I feel incredibly sorry for all the trouble I've caused you and Greta," Draco apologized. "I just wanted a fresh start with Greta and I've been trying my hardest to be the kind of person that she wants. That's all I want: to make her happy."
"How long have you been together?" Hermione asked calmly.
"Since the summer before this year," Greta replied.
"I'm surprised that nobody else has caught you two yet," Hermione admitted. "You were acting awfully suspicious for quite some time, Greta."
Greta let out an embarrassed laugh.
"Are you mad at us?" Draco asked.
"A little bit, but I'll learn to accept it. Just... give me some time," Hermione shrugged. "You two should probably get back to the common rooms. The others are going to get suspicious."
Both Draco and Greta nodded before exiting the broom closet with Hermione.
"Hermione?" Greta called out.
"Yeah?"
"Do you mind keeping us a secret? I'm not sure if I'm ready for everyone to know yet."
"Sure thing! I'd do anything for my best friend."
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it."
