They enter the hotelroom, only to stumble upon the body in the bathtub.
A man lays in a filled bathtub. He has sores and blisters everywhere. The water would have turned yellow.
Hank and Nick would be absolutely revolted by the scene, Maeve wouldn't seem all too impressed to their surprise.
"What happened to him?" Hank wonders.
"Must've been something toxic.." Nick mutters.
"I think it's wise we get out of here." Maeve states as she backs off a little.
"Why?"
"Because that doesn't look very healthy, and I'd rather not get sick."
The three of them leave the bathroom. Hank stumbles upon a uniform.
"Nick, isn't this the uniform from that waiter from the restaurant case we're investigating?" Hank asks as he holds up the uniform whilst holding a plastic glove.
Nick takes a look at the name tag and nods.
"It's Ivan Markov's."
Just as Hank is about to put the uniform down he gets attacked by the blistered man. Hank tries to fend him off before the poor guy collapses and throws up black fluid.
People in hazmat suits walk in and watch shocked.
"Detectives, you shouldn't be here. There's radiation in this room."
One of them quickly guides Maeve, Hank and Nick out of the apartment. Just as they're about to leave, they get stopped by the hazmat.
"I'm sorry, but you guys have to exfoliate."
-
"Take your clothes off and throw them into the incinerator."
"Wait, what?" Hank protests heavily but the official wouldn't accept back talking.
"These are the rules and you are to follow them. Clothing stores radiation. Sorry detectives."
Hank and Nick reluctantly take their clothing off and throw them into the incinerator, they head off to the showers afterwards.
Maeve exhales softly and gets undressed, she didn't mind undressing, in front of fellow females. Not a man. She tosses her clothing in the fire and quickly makes her way to the shower. Avoiding Nick and Hank's gaze at all cost and she expects them to do the same.
Hank however takes a quick glance, but only to see who it was before quickly averting his eyes back to the shower.
-
Maeve, Hank and Nick walk back into the precinct. All three of them are wearing blue paper suits that are anything but flattering.
"We should talk to the captain about what we found out." Hank says and Nick nods, Maeve just follows them into the captains office.
Her heart skipping a beat with the word 'captain' gets mentioned.
Wait what? Why did that happen? That's new.
Maeve frowns a little to herself and shrugs it off. It's probably nothing.
Whilst Nick and Hank explain their findings to Sean, Sean can't help but to glance occasionally to Maeve. Maeve decides to use his interest to her advantage, since she's leaning against the glass wall behind her. She looks up a bit when they make eye contact and winks at Sean, grinning a bit.
Sean quickly looks back at Nick who's talking, seeming a bit flustered but he'd try his hardest to hide it.
Maeve chuckles quietly as her tactic seemed to work, she'd add in a wink or lip bite here and there when she made eye contact with Sean. Everytime Sean it would get to Sean in the way she wanted, adjusting his seat a bit or the way he's leaning as he listens to Nick or Hank.
"I think it's time we start talking to Boris." Sean concludes. "Bring him in."
Nick and Hank nod before they leave. Maeve gets up to follow them but Sean calls her back.
"Maeve."
"Yeah?" Maeve turns around only for Sean to stand right behind her.
"Be careful. The guys Nick and Hank are up against.. They're not your..." Sean takes some time to formulate his words carefully. "Your average felon." He adds.
"Thank you for looking out for me." Maeve nods
There's this chemistry between them two, neither of them could deny it. From the first moment they laid eyes on each other there was something. Sean swallowed gently as he looks at her, he had to look down quite a lot since Maeve was rather short but he thought it was cute. Only a tiny bit of course.
Maeve tries to control her rapidly increasing heart beat, breathing a bit faster in attempt to calm herself down. She could just go in for the kill right now. But then she realizes she's in the middle of a police precinct. It'd be foolish to do that.
"Of course, I look out for all my detectives. Even the fresh ones." Sean would've leaned in a little but he corrects himself and stands back up straight, his hands in his pocket.
"Well not to worry, captain, I'll be fine. I'm a girl who can handle herself." Maeve nods with a small smile before she gestures so the door. There was something lingering in her voice in the way she said 'captain'.
"Am I free to go? Nick and Hank are waiting for me."
"Yes, yes of course. You seem like a woman who can handle herself perfectly." Sean nods and steps back, closer to his desk.
Maeve leaves his office, closing the door gently behind her.
Whilst Sean and Maeve had been talking in the office, Hank and Nick would've observed from a distance. Sitting at their desks while watching.
"Everything okay?" Hank asks, seeming to just a tat irritated.
"Yes? Yes I'm fine. Are you? You seem.. Annoyed." Maeve asks as she walks up to them.
"Me? Annoyed. Why would I be?" Hank scoffs softly.
Maeve shrugs "I don't know. Shall we boys?" She asks.
After they had changed clothes they leave the precinct.
-
Maeve exhales as she flops down on the couch after she returned from work. It's been a long day and she had to decompress. Sadly the interrogation with Boris resulted into nothing as she couldn't link him to the radiation poisoning. It frustrated her a bit as she secretly enjoyed the detective work.
