We arrive at the end of the forest land and the beginning of the swamp land. We watch from the trees, child warriors are practicing hand combat with each other.
"The unworthy queen," I whisper as I see her watch the children.
"Andromeda, we will go out without the warriors, but if anything happens to me we start a war," Andromeda nods before signaling for her warriors to stand down.
I stand from one of the large rocks I'm hiding behind. I flatten out my dress before Andromeda walks beside me.
"We don't know what they are capable of, my queen," Andromeda mentions before we fully expose ourselves.
"The queen may be a ruthless, unworthy queen but she would never send children into a battle they cannot win," Andromeda nods before we fully show ourselves.
They don't notice until we are on the edge of our territory.
"What the hell are you doing here!" The unworthy queen yells at us.
I grab one of the frightened children and hold a blade up to their neck.
"To talk,"
"If you wanted to talk you wouldn't have grabbed one of my warriors!" She is quick to grab her sword before staying on the edge of her territory.
"Relax your unworthiness. I will let the child go if you agree to talk to me and the head of my army," I tell her calmly before slowly releasing my grip on the child.
"Fine, but if any one of my people is harmed by your tree lovers I will have you executed!" She screams loud enough for our people in the trees to hear.
I let go of the child, watching it run off back into their territory.
"That child will never be worthy enough to be a warrior," I mentioned before stepping onto her territory.
Andromeda walks behind me as I stand next to the unworthy queen. She definitely looks like a queen but her actions are not one of a queen.
She had black raven hair that is dreaded in some parts. The hair reaches down to her middle back. It looks like it's covering something but I can't quite see what. She has pink eyes, if it weren't for her skin and hair she would have been mistaken as a white one at birth and been executed. The heart-face shape pulls me in as I continue to walk with her. The pouty lips she has look so inviting but I must not. No matter how beautiful and alluring she is, she is nothing more than an unworthy queen.
"What is it you need?" She asks calmly when we reach her neutral room.
The neutral rooms are where we have meetings with the other lands regarding matters only royalty can handle.
"The ice land, they plan to overthrow my kingdom..." I speak with a commanding voice.
"Why does that concern me?" She sits on one of the wooden chairs with an unknown man standing next to her.
"After they conquer my kingdom yours is next, and before we know it we will all be ice land,"
I try to keep my eyes off of her but I can't. She's dangerous and unpredictable. I could never love someone who thinks they can overthrow me.
All while I'm trying to keep my eyes off of the beautiful queen the omen of death is circling. She's walking around the room watching our every move.
"I have my own army, I know why you're here. You expect me to become allies with you so you could win a potential war,"
She sits up straight before playing with her sword. The sharp metal dancing on her fingers.
"We need each other, over the years ice land has been making trades, allies, and even more. My parents messed with ice land and their trades between the other kingdoms when they were still alive and now I'm paying for it," She looks unamused as I tell her this information.
"I don't even know your name, how do you expect me just to become your ally?" She proves a point, after I heard the king, queen, and all possible heirs to the swamp land were killed and replaced I didn't bother coming to formally introduce myself.
That shows the recklessness in the kingdoms. It's been 7 years since they were overthrown and all the kingdoms never once met in any neutral room.
"Admit it, you need me," Her voice is filled with amusement as she stands and makes her way to me.
From my side view, I see Andromeda grip her sword subtly. The queen is so close to my face I can feel her breath tickle my nose.
"Admit it and I will help you," She wants me to degrade myself, to show that I am codependent and can not do things on my own.
"I need you," I speak up, making sure to spit showing my own dominance.
"Good, I presume that you did not bring your whole army with you... Your dog can go and get them. You will stay in the palace but the rest will be confined to live in our units meant for the other kingdoms," When she says dog she refers to Andromeda.
"Go Andromeda, I know how to take care of myself," I tell her truthfully before she gets escorted by two royal guards.
The queen curls her finger as she starts walking out. I follow her reluctantly, watching the man right by her side. I stay far away enough to be able to escape if anything goes wrong but close enough to hear anything they talk about.
I turn where she turns, walk up the stairs she walks up. As much as I want to hate her I can't bring myself to. I truly want to but something is telling me that I can't.
The omen of death even keeps quiet at this moment, every interaction I have with someone she talks but at this moment she's silent.
