09 | Jungwon's Friend

Minji ran down the stairs of the building with the bleeding boy wrapped around her arm.
It was only a matter of minutes before more men would come after them and she was having a hard time keeping herself together.

"You're slowing us down!"

Minji yelled at the bleeding boy as he was losing his balance due to the strong pain in his back.
Jungwon let out an amused chuckle while breathing heavily as he was using all the strength left in his body to keep himself standing.

"Weird way to thank me for saving your life but I'll take it"

Minji frowned at the boy's words before the guilt hit her as she stared at the wounded boy with worry.
She eyed him apologetically before adjusting her hand around him for support as they waddled down the stairs while being cautious of the threat that could strike them any second.

The two made it down to the ground level as they ran out of the door, leading them to a street with a few people passing by while giving them stares of concern.
Minji eyed around the street, trying to find a way for them to get away from the area as soon as possible.
She soon spotted a man sitting on his motorcycle across the road next to a night club with the loud music blasting through the walls.
The girl dragged the boy across the street as he was getting heavier to support the more blood he lost.
At that moment her only priority was to escape and get help for the injured boy.

"Hey! Can I borrow your bike?"

Minji smiled at the man sitting on the motorcycle, trying to seem friendly as he turned around to eye her up and down.
A strong smell of alchocol lingered from his breaths as he laughed loudly at the girl's question, ignoring the clearly unwell boy beside her.

"And what do I get from it?"

Minji's smile fell at the man's words as she glared at him with disgust.
She looked at the boy beside her before sighing deeply as he was struggling to maintain his consciousness.
Minji turned to look at the man again before feigning him a fake smile as she took steps closer towards him, leaving the injured boy to rely on his own feet to stand.
She gave the man one last glance before pushing him off the bike with force as he fell down to hit the ground.
She quickly sat down on the vechicle before gesturing the boy to hop on as the man on the ground was slurring inaudible yells at the two.

"Do you even know how to drive this thing?"

Jungwon managed to mumble through the dizzy state he was in as the girl only smirked at the question.
She grabbed the handlebars before turning her head to give the boy a small glance.

"I can do a lot of things"

Minji replied with a proud smirk before speeding away as the angry yells of the drunken man were getting more faint the further away the two got.
Soon the girl could feel the boy's arms wrapped around her as she kept increasing the speed.
Minji's heart jumped at the sudden contact as she struggled to keep her focus on the road.
Jungwon shut his eyes tightly while grasping onto the girl's shirt as she drove fast through the dark streets.

"Where does that friend of yours live?"

Minji yelled through the noise as she turned her head to the side to see if the boy was even conscious anymore.
Jungwon inhaled deeply to gather the energy to reply to her as his body felt too weak to even properly hold onto the girl.

"Just drive, I'll tell you when to turn!"

Jungwon attempted to yell but it only worsened the pain in his back as he hissed out in pain before resting his head against the girl.
Minji could just barely hear what the boy said as she kept driving further while waiting for his instructions.

The two made it to a stranded area next to the sea as the sounds of the waves were the only thing to provide a soothing feeling through the chaotic situation they were in.
Minji eyed around the dock as she had no sense of where the boy had led them.
Shivering from the cold ocean breeze, the girl stood up before walking around to find any sign of the boy's friend.
Jungwon attempted to get up from the vechicle before falling to the ground, collapsing as he couldn't hold on for much longer.
Minji rushed to help the boy as he was barely able to keep his eyes open.
The fear and panic were slowly taking over her as she felt hopeless for not being able to help.

"Where's your friend, Jungwon!?"

Minji yelled at the nearly unconscious boy as she was panicking from the sudden change of his state.
The boy lifted his hand up, his whole body trembling.
He extended his finger to point at a building in the distance, causing the girl to snap her head towards the direction.
She turned to look back at him before nodding as she ran towards the building to find the only person that could help the boy.

Approaching the large abandoned building she grew suspicious of whether the boy had pointed in the right direction.
She shrugged the feeling off before taking steps closer towards the door in front of her.

"Hey! Jungwon's friend, are you there?"

Minji shouted while banging her fist against the door as no response was coming.
Just as she was about the kick the door down, it flew open revealing an older looking boy who was pointing at her with a gun.
Minji laughed awkwardly while scratching her head as the boy kept staring her with a questioning look, threathening her with the weapon.

"Jungwon really needs you"

The older boy's eyes widened at the girl's rushed words as he eyed around the dark area to look for his friend.
Soon his eyes landed on the boy lying on the wet ground in the distance as he dropped the gun from his hands before running towards him frantically.
Minji followed behind while praying it wasn't too late to save him.

At the same time someone was eyeing their every move while observing the situation from afar.
The person grabbed a device from their pocket, taking one last glance at the girl before speaking to it.

"It's her, I'm sure of it"

The other line was quiet while the person kept their eyes on the girl as a slight smirk grew on their face.
Suddenly the device made a sound as the person brought it to their ear to hear the voice.

"Get the girl"
