— PETE.
I got ready and prepared how I usually did, black suit, fixed hair, shining shoes. How an honorable bodyguard should be. My gaze catched the breakfast that person prepared, it was under with a small transparent cover. I didn't know how I looked like, but I know for sure it was shit.
"Make sure I don't get hungry? I'm always hungry, I thought you knew." I scoffed.
I never had any complaints about my job, I never had anything against whoever we were fighting with. As long as Khun Noo and Khun Kinn were safe, it didn't matter how we got to it. All's well that ends well.
But..
I closed my eyes to stop the tears from falling. I don't wish to fight against Vegas, I know I couldn't. I valued honesty so much, how can I lie to myself that I could stand seeing him hurt under our hands? Under my orders?
I went out of the room fully clothed, on uniform. Arm and Pol looked at me weirdly.
"Oi, we're not leaving yet, why are you on uniform?" Pol asked me.
I faked a smile that could pass as a genuine one, "I don't have any more clothes." Both of them laughed at me and offered to lend me a more appropriate attire for the next game.
I saw Macau leaving him room with Ché, he looked tired like me. Maybe he knew what his brother was supposed to do? Did he have nothing to do with it? Was Macau's hand clean? Or was he just another scape goat of the minor family if things go wrong?
All the blame would be pinned on Vegas.
I hate Khan. He's the most ruthless and worthless person. I can't fathom how he can stand sacrificing his sons for his ingenious hunger for power.
"Dude, are you okay?" Arm asked pointing at the cup I had a hard grip on.
I immediately loosened my hold on it and chuckled, "Nothing, I lost a game yesterday." I lied.
Pol bought the lie and teased me nonstop about it. Arm, on the other side, looked concerned.
I lost my composure when people started looking for Vegas from me, they kept teasing me about what I did to the poor master last night. I gave them all a smile and lied about him getting air when I left our room. I don't understand why I just won't tell them that Vegas already left. Macau gave me a meaningful look, as Porsche and Kinn noticed that, they continued to ask me about Vegas.
I forced another smile, "What? I told you, I really did leave the room without him. He said he was just getting fresh air, the aroma from last night hadn't left him since then." I tried to sound more convincing.
Macau's pleasing eyes were asking me to tell the truth, did he want us to know what his brother is doing? Is Vegas really just forced to do this? Owwww!!! If only Vegas told me a lot more than just me making him hate that part of him, I could've found a way to help him!!! I grunted and took my own bag for the treasure hunt. I warned the others to be extra careful, I told them about my injury and didn't want others to feel that too.
Kinn was suspicious of me, but I really wasn't in the mood to entertain other people aside from myself. I still couldn't think about a plan to help Vegas, because I know if I tell Porsche it'll reach Kinn, and if it reaches Kinn, Khun and Kim will hear about it; and if everybody hears about it, Vegas will end up being bad!!! I closed my eyes to think as the others started to enter the forest.
This time, Macau, Ché, Kim and Khun, went in four pairs. The two were just kids so no one actually refused the thought.
I jumped a little when Big, another bodyguard, tapped my shoulders. He gave me a concerned look, probably because of my facial expressions being stressed as a horse. I pulled another fake smile and motioned him to go on with the hunt.
