Butter Squash Soup

"[Y/N]?"

"[Y/N]??"

Y-Yuu...?

"Yuu?..is that...are you really..-"

"Yes,[Y/N].Come to me,"

They outstretched their arms,a calm and soft look on their face.Although it looked slightly distorted, they shook it off and ran into Yuu.It felt so unreal.

"How are you?has royal sword academy  been treating you nicely?has he been treating you nicely??"

They genuinely didn't know which 'he' they were talking about.But they didn't answer because they were too lost in bliss and happiness of getting to see their oh so beloved best friend again.Even though its probably just for a short amount of time.

Yuu gently stroked [Y/N]'s hair with their left hand.They swore hey felt a shiver run down their spine,Yuu's hand felt oddly cold.As soon as they did shiver a little,Yuu suddenly pulled their arms away.Standing still.[Y/N] slowly moved back,looking at their face.Just to see 'Yuu' staring back blankly.No smile,no light in their eyes,nothing.Just blank.

"Yuu...wheres Grimm?"

[Y/N]'s eyes slightly widened,looking around frantically.Grim was annoying,but its really rare to not see or at least hear him when with Yuu.Really,really rare.Actually,I don't think there was a time where Grimm wasn't with Yuu ever since they met during that ceremony.

"...."

"Yuu wheres Grimm..if your the real Yuu,Grimm should be--"

"Grimm is gone."

Slowly backing away further,their back hit a tree they didn't remember was there.Yuu walked closer,[Y/N] felt frozen in place.Losing the ability to move

"What do you mean by that..."

"...."

Silence.

'Yuu' turned around,facing their back to them.They took a few steps then stopped.Looking into the sky.That seemed to get darker and darker as each second passed.

"Don't trust him."

Their head fell,looking down at the ground.Thunder could suddenly be heard in the sky.[Y/N] looked up to see green lightning that looked a bit familiar but they can't think too much of that right now.

"What..?don't...don't trust who..?"

They still couldn't understand who they were talking about.Maybe it was Neige but that's impossible.There are so many other 'him's' you met and know.

"You need to wake up,[Y/N].Now."

"[Y/N],wake up..."

"Wake up."

What?

"WAKE UP."

Jumping awake,to feel a warm hand on their shoulder.Looking around to see they were still in Neige's room.With Neige himself sat on the side of the bed beside them.

"....Neige?"

"Are you okay..?you were twisting and turning a lot,and it almost sounded like you were whimpering and crying.."

Oh.It must have been some night terror.

"Oh.I had a nightmare."

It sounded silly and immature,though it was normal and quite fine.

"Ah,alright then.I brought you some soup and medication the nurse at the nurses office recommended."

He pointed over to the table with a smile,where there was a tray with a steaming bowl,that obviously was the soup.Near the bowl were some pills and a glass of water.

"Thank you,Neige."

"No need to thank me,[Y/N]-san!I'm just treating you like a decent human being."

Standing up,he glanced back down,closing his eyes for a second and smiling again,even brighter.

"I have to go do something,I'll be back soon"

His smile faded,turning back and walking to the door.Exiting the room.His footsteps from the other side of the door sounded fainter and fainter until it no longer could be heard.

Swallowing a lump in their throat,they gathered all their energy to stand up and eat the soup on the tray.Careful to not spill any of it.

They knew Neige was just treating them decently,but that phrase sounded so..peculiar.It somehow didn't even sound like Neige at some point.

They didn't shrug it off like they did with everything else though,because it really did feel odd.

It was almost like Neige was gas lighting them on how they weren't treated like a normal human being before because they certainly didn't get this sort of treatment before.

[Y/N] starred deeply into the soup in front of them,a blank look on their face.It was butternut squash soup.The warm steam floating up onto their face.The food at Royal Sword Academy is delicious literally and looks delicious.Yet they couldn't find the appetite to eat,even though they haven't even ate breakfast or lunch.

Grabbing the spoon carefully,they inhaled,sniffing in the scent of the soup.Which was heavenly.But then again,they couldn't fight off their gut feeling to not eat it.Glancing over to the pills,they wanted to just take the medicine but they can't on an empty stomach.

A sigh leaving their mouth,they caved in and started to eat the dish.It did taste good,but they still felt paranoid.
It didn't take long for them to finish it.Putting down the spoon,then taking the pills.Swallowing it down with water.

They felt dizzy,but it probably was just a side effect of the meds.In fact,they don't even know what they took were.They don't know the name,the brand,nothing.They just took it and swallowed it.

Standing up,they almost toppled over,luckily they were able to save their fall.Walking to the bed,they literally fell on it.Climbing onto it so they can fully lay on it while their face was buried into the messy sheets.

A groan escaped passed their lips as they covered themselves with the thick-ish blankets.They may smell heavily like Neige's cologne but that's okay because Neige smells good anyways.

Totally forgetting about everything is,they closed their eyes for a moment,rethinking stupid life decisions.Re-opening their eyes when they heard footsteps echo in the hallway outside rushing towards the door.

Not even a millisecond later,the door flew open.[Y/N],who still layed on the bed not knowing what was going on,called out to the first person they thought it was.

"Neige?is tha--"

[Y/N]'s eyes widened when they saw an object being thrown right at their head when they sat up right.Their response was not on time which lead to the object hitting them hard in the head.A loud thud came from the room that made a little echo when the sound escaped the open door.

Their now unconscious body fell back down onto the comfortable mattress.Looking out of breath.Sent back to dream world.
