While Grace and Kari talked, Ithel didn't move from his spot just inside the front door, but even though he didn't want to, his eyes began to unconsciously move around the room. And, he couldn't help but be touched by the warm sayings on the wall, like "Home is where the heart is," and the pictures of Grace and Kari, which showed that they had been friends for a very long time.
As Ithel was looking at a picture of a young Grace with someone who appeared to be her mother, Kari walked into the room with a blanket and asked, "Have you moved since we left?"
Ithel looked down at his feet and realized that he hadn't moved. So, he looked up and said, "No."
"Well, you can."
"Ok."
Then, Grace walked in, set her sheets and pillow on the couch and said, "This should be everything you need."
Ithel said, "Thanks," and Grace said, "Well, I'm going to bed."
"You're going to bed, now?" asked Kari.
"Yes, I'm tired, so I'm going to bed."
"Alright."
Grace turned to leave the room, but stopped, turned back to Ithel and said, "I forgot the bathroom is at the end of the hall, and you can get anything you want out of the kitchen."
"Hey!?" said Kari.
"Anything that's not Kari's," said Grace.
"I'll be fine. The bathroom is all I will need."
"Ok...goodnight."
After Grace left the room, Kari stood there awkwardly for a second, then said, "I think I'll also go to bed."
Ithel waited a few minutes to make sure Grace and Kari weren't leaving their rooms; then he walked over to the couch and sat down. The couch was remarkably comfortable, and Ithel was very tired, but unfortunately, he couldn't stop thinking about Grace's eyes and who they reminded him of.
