While Grace was at work trying not to think about her last wish or Ithel, and Ithel was killing time in a grove of trees that were luckily right next to Grace's office park, Kari woke up and made her way into work and as has been the habit of happening in this tale, Marisol who was supposed to be working with Kari had actually switched shifts at the last minute with Brandon, Kari's work spouse as she called him.
As soon as the lunch rush ended, she told Brandon everything that happened and why she was so frustrated that Grace wouldn't use her last wish to heal herself.
After Kari finished talking, Brandon took a few moments to process everything she had just told him then asked, "Why don't you get the wishes and heal her?"
Kari hadn't thought of that, so she said, "I hadn't thought of that, but that's a really good idea...But how do I get the wishes?"
"Save his life, right?"
Kari immediately realized that Brandon was right. All she had to do was save the genie's life; then she could heal Grace and have two wishes left over. The only question was how?
