Lies

Lies are the building block of society

They can be twisted and changed

As easily as erasing an incorrect answer

They are the sought after poison that provides relief and betrayal all at once

Lying is easy

Telling the truth is hard

Lies help you forget

Cover the guilt

Comfort the hurt

Bind people to others

And tame the demons we refuse to face

They say the truth sets you free

But is that's still true when the truth is the true weapon all people have

When it's the ugly truth that

Can hurt worse than all the blissful lies you know by heart

It's like picking your poison

Know the full story and know that this is how the world works, how the story went, or how it all goes

Knowing the pain of everything you couldn't change and knowing the hurt of someone's true intentions

Or you can be oblivious

Know nothing more than what you're told

And not seeing the deceit that was so close to you.

That could easily kill you because you refuse to see past the familiar comfort.

Sure there's the in between

The middle ground but....

That's like getting the hurt of two sides

Not seeing

But seeing too much all at once.

So pick

Which pain you're willing to bear

Which pain you can bear,

Till it kills you

And Crushes you with its weight

While you're left to continue marching on

Towards the blackened goal you clutch onto

you desperately hope will save you
