Viper's POV

Standing. Within distance of the police department. Every single thing was different, every thing was changing, either slowly or, very fast.

All I remember was being dispatched to the police station. Of course, they asked me questions and I refused to answer some of them. Some of the questions were too personal to answer.

There were four to five  mafia families in total, including my own, I was the third family in. I was only a child when I was raised into the family.

Back in the day, I was one of those helpless, poor, and weak kids.

Every thing changed the day Sigil came to my rescue. Sigil had been one of the leaders of his own family. Leading them to victory had always been a task he had always accomplished.

My life was complicated, I wasn't sure how to explain why or how, but all I knew is that I had to keep my loyalty by serving under the mafia, it helped in some way to feed myself and my underdogs.

Of course, I was the underboss. And our true boss was Classic. Apparently we got into a sprawl with Rurik's mafia.

I ponder in thought, lighting up my cigarette. Taking a puff- and, exhaling deeply.

Everything was beyond reach. All I had to do, was do as I am told. And then, eventually, get rewarded.

"Hey, Viper." Spoke one of my assistants, she had gone by the name of Flora.

She happened to be a bit shorter than me by about an inch or two, considering I was six foot in height. I look at her.

"Da, what you want?" My accent came through the air as ice, chilling as it was within the breeze of September's autumn.

"Uhh, I came to come grab you. Apparently someone isn't happy you didn't succeed in bringing Rurik with you-" She said, staring at me. She had to be at least the age of a teenager, about the age is sixteen years or so. She acted a lot older than any teenager I've ever met, that's for sure.

I told myself.

Breathing out smoke from my nose, "hm. I expected as much-" I replied in response. Leaving the cigarette at the side of my mouth.

Funny how the mafia works. You're either loyal and do as your told. Or, if you betray the family. You get taken somewhere secret, and, get slaughtered. Like an animal.

I understood I failed to comply to get Rurik to tag along. Instead I was a moron and used my weapon of choice to "accidentally" shoot his lover.

Rurik and I had known one another for about five, six years the most. And, I probably lost his trust.

Sighing briefly, knowing I would have to face judgement, knowing that my boss was Classic. He was very well known to be the boss of judgement in our so called family.
