Day 18 ( After The Storm )

He was in the waiting room for what felt like hours for the doctors to tell him if Rurik was going to be okay or not. He wasn't sure why it was taking so long, but he had hoped that his husband would be better when he got out, the medics began to put Rurik's bones back into place.

And, all Lotus could do was listen. Wait, and listen to even more pained screaming. Wincing at the sound of his lover from the other room. If only those were pleasurable screams, Lotus notes in his head. He makes me scream like that but better. He continues in his mind, watching his parents come into the front entrance of the hospital. Reaper was carrying Raven on his back, whilst his husband carried Spade and Shadow's car seat that they both had slept in with his magic. Lotus stood up and came over to them,

"mom-- dad--.. I-"

"We heard what happened. Are you okay?" Geno then asked. As soon as Spade and her brother heard their mother's voice, they both woke up. Cooing softly. Lotus knelt down to the car seat, and let Shadow hold onto his index finger. "my sweet babies.. I'm so sorry you had to see that. I know it must have been scary.." Lotus said, earning soft laughter from the two. Both holding onto their mother's hand in reassurance that they understood. Surprisingly even for them being two weeks old. Lotus continued;

"Also-- I'm okay. But, Rurik.. He.."

Pause.

"Lotus. What happened? How in the world did he get caught out there during the storm?" Reaper asked, Raven had been asleep on his back. His arm dangling gently. Soft breaths coming from him.

Another pause.

"He got caught out there after we-- had our argument.. I was trying to protect the twins, and calm them down, but he told me not to unbuckle myself or them. Because they or I could have gotten severely hurt."

"An argument? About protecting the kids?" Geno asked, his eyebrows furrow, worriedly. "Lotus, I can understand why you and him fought, but doing that during a storm would have definitely put them in grave danger."

Looking down to Spade and Shadow, who were playing with one another's toys. Both being amused by the silly noises it had made.

"You think I don't know that?! I only wanted to hug them close! It hurt me to see them crying the way they were.. because.. I don't want them to be raised like how I was when I was only that many weeks old when you were trying to raise me!" Lotus snaps, quietly. But enough for his voice to boom. His children were distracted, both giggling at each other. Thankfully not noticing their mother's distress. At least they wouldn't start crying.

"Lotus, look, I-"

"Don't say you're sorry, mom. Because even if you do there won't be any point. You already know that I forgive you. Because ever since you had Raven, you are actually proving that you do have love for him and I." Lotus interrupts, sighing deeply. Rubbing his temples,

"it's just.. He.."

"Goth, breathe."

Said Reaper, holding his shoulder.

"We understand."

Geno stepped in.

"I just don't get why he had to be an idiot and fight with me about wanting to just-- hug them.. Even though I was being kinda a mom about it.. But, I am glad it wasn't me for once getting caught in something terrible. I'm also glad that our babies didn't either.. I just-- I hope he's okay.." Lotus says, tearfully.

"Trust me, being a first time parent is tough. But, at least you brought them to us to keep safe from-"

"Death. Don't you dare-"
