Zatanna: The Mistress of Magic

Once upon a time, there was a talented magician named John Zatara, who have a wife named Sindella, they were a happy couple who never stop smiling and everyday they always say 'I love you' to each other.

One day, on the summer night of full moon, Sindella is standing barefoot in the garden, making a wish to herself.

"I wish to have a little girl." she whisper, "With hair black as a raven's wings, eyes blue as a twilight sky, lips pink as a rose and skin pale as the full moon." and months later, her wish came true, a little girl was born, John and Sindella was bless to have the most beautiful daughter and as John held his newborn, he declared her name,

"Her name shall be Zatanna." Years went by, Zatanna grew to be a bundle of sunshine, spreading kindness, with her parents proud of her, they became the happiest family on earth, until, their happiness has turns gray as a dark storm, when Zatanna was nine years old, Sindell was fallen ill, they've found out that she is diagnosed with stage 4 of breast cancer and she have gone through many months of treatments, but none were successful.

John visit his beloved wife everyday, sitting at her bedside holding her hand for hours, he can see how cancer changed her, her shaved head, her skin is poorly pale and she looked like she haven't slept. Sindella knew that she may not survive and she feared to leave her husband and daughter, so she turn to her husband and ask her husband to make a promise.

"What ever happens, take care of our little girl." Sindella said with tears streaming down her cheek, John gently wipe her tears, he promised to protect Zatanna and he kiss her head.

When Zatanna turned ten, Sindella has finally passed away, leaving her family with a broken heart and after her funeral, Zatanna was in her room, looking out the window, up to the stars, knowing that her mother is now one of them. 

"Zara?" her father said, poking his head out, "it was past your bed time." Zatanna said she couldn't sleep, John walks over and sits besides her, he said that he misses her too and said that he is sorry that Zatanna had a bad birthday.

"Wait! What's that behind your ear?" he said then he pulled from her ear is a star necklace, "I give this to your mother on her birthday," he said as he he unhook the chain, "and now I'm giving it to you." As he hook the necklace around her neck, Zatanna grew a smile, that she has something to remember her mother. 

And as John finally got Zatanna back into bed, he quitely left her room and went downstairs to the living room. He stands by the fireplace,

"Tel Erehr eb thgil!" he said and the fireplace went ablaze. He stares into the fire place knowing that Zatanna will have her powers soon and he have to train her.
