Chapter 9: Hanid Lerual Ecnal

In Central City, Dinah was out in about in a night club having a time of her life with a few of her friends and they all celebrating that they've finished collage. Dinah's friends are talking about their plans, but Dinah has nothing planned, she thought she would be a martial arts teacher or maybe start a self defense class and maybe be a cop.

As Dinah gone up to a bar to get a drink, a guy next to her, elevates his eyes on her as she wore a black corset top, leather mini skirt and fishnets. He approaches her and he began to hit on her, Dinah tries to give him a hint that she isn't interested, but the guy wouldn't budged and Dinah can tell that he is intoxicated with alcohol. Then the guy got closer to her, getting handsy, she tries to pushed him away, just then a tall blonde guy in a green leather jacket pulled him away from her and said in a threatening tone.

"If I were you, I start walking!", the drunk guy act like he isn't scared, but he can see that the blonde guy is willing to beat him up and he walks away. Dinah walks up to her savior, telling him that she can handle it, the blonde guy turned, saying that a young girl can handle a grown man and she replied by informing him that she a first degree black belt, which means that she can handle it. The blonde guy smiled, admired her strong spirit, Dinah did notice her cute he is and said,

"Well, thanks for helping me out, Mr?", "Queen," he answered, "Oliver Queen." then she introduce herself and returns her friends, with a smile growing on her face. After a while, Dinah and her friends said their goodbyes and Dinah walks downthe allyway. Then she had a feeling that she being followed, she looks back and see two men walking behind her, she looks straight and walks a little faster and when she near the end of the ally, she got blocked by the same guy at the bar. 

"Going somewhere my little pretty?" she chuckles, Dinah realises that they two men were his mates and she is surrounded, "Now boys," Dinah warned, "I'm not that type of girl you want to messed with." The mens started laughing, then as the guy walks towards her, Dinah punched upward and hit his nose with the heel of her hand, then one of his  grabs her from behind, then she jabs her nail into his wrist, the pain made lose his strength and she judo throws him.

The other charge up, trying to hit her, but she dodges every swing, then she gives him a few punches and spins kicked him. The suddenly, she got pulled and pinned to a wall the the guy, he restrains by gripping her wrists, she tries to break free, but the guy is too strong, he smiles devilishly and the only thing that Dinah have to do is called out for help, so someone can help her.

"HELP!" she screamed, the loudest she ever made, then her scream blast the guy away and he flew against a wall. Dinah help the neck with shock, wondering how she did with her scream and with shock and manages to escape for her attackers and she ran all the way home.

When she got home, she sat on the sofa, breathing heavily from all the running and she let out a huge sob from her attack. Lawerance came downstairs, he woke up when he heard her come in, he found her crying  and he fatherly hugs her. She told him about the attack and hesitantly told him about she screamed that made her ataacker flew away. Lawrence faced forwards with his hands on his face and said to himself quitely.

"I thought it wouldn't passed down." Dinah heard him, she asked what she means and her father finally decided to tell her the truth.

"What you did," he began, "is a strong power, your mom called it the Canary Cry." Dinah widens her eyes, she asked what her mom got to do with it and Lawrance said that her mom also have the gift. Then he went to a shelves, pull out a box, he return to his seat and revealed the biggest truth.

"You mom, is Black Canary." he said as pulls out a photo and handed to her, she stares at the photo of her mother in her super suit. Dinah couldn't believe that her mother is a superhero and she has her power, she asked her father whay didn't he tell her truth, and he replied that he wanted her to have a normal life and he was hoping that she won't the Canary Cry.

"Her name is Dinah Drake," he said, "I knew who she was before we got married, but things got complicated in our marriage, so we both decided to get a divorce and almost 10 months later, that when I found you, on my doorstep, with this note." Then Lawrance handed her the note and Dinah began to read.

Dear Lawrance, 

I know you surprised right now, but this is your daughter, and the reason I'm leaving her with you is because I'm going to Gotham to work on a very dangerous case and I fear that I may not come back. Please protect her and do your best as a father, cause you are the only one she needs right now. 

And also, there might be a chance that she may have inherited my power, when she's ready, give her this key and let her choose her own path.

Dinah.

"You told me that she died when I was born," Dinah said with anger, "you've been lying to me all these years." Lawarence defended himself by saying he did what's best for here, he wants Dinah to have a normal life and Dinah said that she's not normal and told him that it's her life and she decides what's best for her. Then Dinah see the key that her mother left her in the box, in a quick motion, she snatched the key and ran out of the house. She ran down the street as she hears her father calling her to come back, but she didn't she kept on running with tears falling from her face and she finally stops at the bus stop. 

After resting and crying, Dinah looked the key and discovers that it has a tag on it that said it is a key for a storage unit in gotham. Dinah always wanted to know more about her mom, but she doesn't know that if she's dead or alive and what is the dangerous case she's working, and Dinah decided what she's going to do and the first thing she has to do is go to Gotham.

After days of traveling to Gotham, she have finally find her mother's storage unit, she used the key to unlock the door and inside is a black motorcycle, a laptop, a evidence board with pictures of a mafia and there was a black case with a keypad, she tries to figure what the code and she figure she should try her birthday, she entered the code and it accepts. She open the case and found her mother's Black Canary suit and a note that read.

My Darling girl,

If you're reading this, it means that I'm dead and you have the Canary Cry, I wouldn't want you to have this burden, but this is a part you. The day I left you to your father, it is a choice I have to make and the biggest regret I ever made. The day you were born, I knew you're strong and be a great hero someday, but this is your choice, choose your path carfully and live with it.

Then Dinah wipe her tear when she finished reading the last letter of her departed mother, then she thought for a moment, she looked around the storage unit and she had finally decides what her path is.
