Zatanna: The Mistress of Magic

Chapter 5: Won Uoy Ees Reh, Won Ouy T'nod

A day later, Zatanna getting dressed for her first magic performance at Jenna's birthday party, she together parts of her clothes to make herself look like a magician, a white button up shirt, black leggings, a pair of black velour heeled boots and a purple corset. She spend a whole day yesterday learning some basic magician's tricks, she went through the attic to get her father's old magic gear, rings, cards and a little black box. She was also up all night to learn some Projection Spells, she tried the Bi-Location Spell, she practise by sending her old teddy bear to her bedroom and return back to the study. 

She looks in the mirror as she finished dressed up and look in the mirror, seeing herself like she is looking at the future as the Mistress of Magic. She quickly packs her equipments, left the house and heads over to Jenna's party, when she arrived at Jenna's house, she knocks on the door, took in a breath to prepare herself, then the door open and Zatanna got a big surprise.

"What are you doing here?!" Sherry said in shock and Zatanna stuttered, "I'm here for Jenna's party. What are you doing here?", "Jenna is my cousin!" Sherry replied. Zatanna was stunned of the information, she would never guess the Sherry and Jenna are related, then Jenna's came up, welcoming Zatanna and invites her in, Sherry gives Zatanna a cold stare as she was escorted to the party in the backyard. 

"Zatanna! You here!" Jenna said as she ran up and give her a hug, "Okay Kids!" Jenna's mom announced, "This is Zatanna, she comes here to perform some magic!", all the kids cheer, Jenna grabs Zatanna's hand and drags her to her stage. Then Mrs Parker asked Sherry to keep an eye on the kids, while she's inside setting the table and sorting out the snacks.  

Zatanna is having a grand time performing to young children with every trick she performed, making a bird appeared in the box, linked and unlinked the rings and a few cards trick, all the kids cheer and applaude, makes Zatanna see why her father loves performing.

"Lame!" cried Sherry making everyone looking at her, "I know how that trick works, it in her sleeves!", Jenna stood up and told her to stop, she cried that she ruining her party, then Sherry complains that she doesn't want to be here, her mom made, then Jenna tear up and cried,

"Stop it! Or," "Or what shrimp?", then Jenna points at Zatanna and yelled, "Or she'll make you disappear!" Sherry began to laugh, then Jenna begs Zatanna to do it and then Zatanna sees tears falling from her eyes, Zatanna knows why Sherry ruining her performance, because she's jealous of her and Adam being together, but ruining a 6 year old's party is out of line. 

"Sure I'll make you disappear!" Zatanna said with a pleasent smile, then she saw Cherie's smile fades, "Sherry, why don't you come on stage, unless you're afraid." The kids stares at Sherry, seeing if she is willing to do it, then Sherry scoffed and approach the stage, Zatanna pulls up a chair and asked her to take a seat and Sherry sits with her arms crossed acting like she knows nothing is going to happen, but truthfully, she is nervous of not knowing what Zatanna is going to do to her. Zatanna toke a bed sheet from a wishing line and cover Sherry with it.

"Are you ready kids?! she said, the kids nods with excitment and Zatanna cast the Bi-Location Spell, "Dnes Reh Ot Eht Edisrehto!" then the sheet falls onto the body of the chair and Zatanna pulls the sheets to reveal that Sherry has disappeared. The kids screamed with cheer of her outstanding performance, then Zatanna next trick is to bring Sherry back, she holds up the sheet to make a devider between the kids and the chair.

"Nruter Reh Morf Eht Edisrehto!" casted Zatanna, then she dropped the sheet and revealed that the chair is empty. Sherry was suppose to reappear, so she again holds up the bed sheet, repeat  the spell, drops the sheet and the chair is empty.

"Where's Sherry?!" Jenna squealed, Zatanna tries to calm her as she thinks a little lie to tell her, but all she could think of is why didn't she come back, and then she realised that she did. When casting the Bi-Location Spell, the caster must think of the exact location to send someone, but Zatanna didn't focus on the location, she just wanted Sherry to stop ruining Jenna's party and now she can't bring her back because she doesn't know where she send her.

"What is going on out here?!" Mrs Parker said as she came out, Jenna told her that Sherry is gone, Zatanna's palm began to sweat and her heart is racing, Mrs Parkers calls for her niece as she looks around, then Mrs Parker asked her daughter where she is and Jenna points at Zatanna, saying that she made Sherry disappear.

"Where is Sherry?" Mrs Parker interrogated, Zatanna tries to think of a explation, "Oh I see what is going!" Mrs Parker spoke up, "You two plan this disappearing trick, so she can sneak off, cause I know she doesn't want to be here!", Zatanna told that not what happen and Mrs Parker kept screaming at her to confess and keep asking her where Sherry is. Zatanna can feel her heart is about to bust, she couldn't take anymore pressure, then she screams,

"POTS!", and everyone around her frozed like a statue, like time dosen't exist. Then Zatanna fell to her knees as she cries, realising what a disaster she have made, she tries to figure out how to bring Sherry back, but she doesn't know where she is, she thought of summoning her father, but she is worried that she'll get in trouble that she learned Projections Spell and performed real magic in public behind his back. But she has no choice, she picks herself up, wipe her tears and look up to the sky and call for her mentor.

"Rehtaf! I Deen Uoy!"  her voice echos through the sky and then there was a swirling smoke appears right in front of her and the smoke vanished and reavels John Zatara. John looks round trying figure out where he is, a child's birthday party in the garden with a woman and children froze in time, then he see his daughter with a guilty look on her face, wearing some outfit and then he knows what is going on.

"Zatanna!" he said in a firm tone, "What have you done?!"
