🪔A common cold🪔

(Sunny POV): Sitting alone in my room minus Mari being there doing gods know what I rolled over to face the wall. I grabbed my phone from its position near my stomach and opened it going through my contacts finding Basil's easily after going through the million messages from Kel I taped on his contact and hesitated to type anything but took a quiet breath and typed out something simple.

Sunflower

Sunshine: Hi I don't know if you are awake yet but I hope you are.

The silence of no messages told me he was still sleeping and soon I got a headache and Mari told me I had caught a cold which was not surprising whatsoever. I rolled my eyes at Mari when she said she was going to hang out with Hero leaving me alone I heard Mari's faint voice say something downstairs but I ignored it until the bedroom door creaked open slightly I sat up and looked expecting it to be Mari or Kel but the person in the doorway was none other than Basil. He smiled at me and I felt my chest grow warm as he came and sat on his knees on the floor next to my bed. I was still sitting up so I scooted over and patted the spot right next to me at first he looked confused but when I moved the sheets slightly he understood and sat on the bed next to me putting the sheets down first but all I did was out and yank them from under him when he laid down and placed them over him and I could hear his heartbeat as I cuddled closer to him and felt one of his arms wrap around me. "Sorry I didn't answer your text. I was going to come over and surprise you sorta but when I heard you got a cold from Mari I decided to help take care of you." I hummed as I felt sleep start to take over making me cuddle closer to Basil who was warm now that I was even closer I heard his heartbeat even and he seemed to be flustered or surprised maybe even nervous but at that moment it was the thing that helped me fall asleep.

(Aubrey POV): I had run into Mari and Hero at the park while I and Kel were just hanging out on the dock we were now starting back to Mari's house and Kel was blabbering about something unimportant to anything we were talking about but it was okay. Once we reached the door Mari was putting her key in the door and said, "Sunny is sick right now with a cold but Basil came over to take care of him for me while I was out. So if you guys want we can check up on them." The three of us agreed and as Mari opened the door she took off her shoes and started walking quietly through the house the rest of us following her motion as we made it to their bedroom door Mari slowly opened the door to reveal Sunny and Basil sleeping bot softly snoring. I had covered my mouth to stop from laughing loudly and when I looked over at Kel he wasn't doing much better honestly. Kel back out of the room and fell to the floor laughing which caused Sunny to wake up groggily not noticing anyone there he moved the hair out from over Basil's eyes and even as Kel laughed loudly it looked like he was in his little world. Soon Basil stirred slightly and opened his eyes and smiled at Sunny and said, "Have a nice nap sleepy head?" As Basil rubbed his eyes Sunny rolled his own and said, "You were asleep too you know!" Basil stopped rubbing his eyes and chuckled which turned into a soft laugh as he fell out of the bed and looked towards the door seeing us his expression tensed along with his entire body making Sunny look in our direction and he didn't tense up he just waved tiredly at as and smiled. Kel was trying to stand but when he did finally seeing the scene in the room he fell to the floor laughing harder this time I had to admit it was funny as well but Kel was acting like an idiot so I didn't think it was funny after a few more minutes of him laughing it was getting annoying and it was because Kel was now wheezing on the floor with everyone staring at him in concern. Finally, she stopped coughing and wheezed a little more before he fully composed himself once again but still sitting on the floor.

(Basil's POV): (DID I ACTUALLY FALL ASLEEP IN THE SAME BED AS SUNNY?! DOES HE THINK I'M WEIRD NOW? He probably does...) I looked up at Sunny to see him looking at me and smiling as well and then, I knew that things were going to be alright.
