Omori Band AU (The singer and the florist)

🧨Just a day of practice and feelings🧨

(Sunny POV): It had been a few days since I got my cold and now all that was left was a dry throat and coughing. Mari was driving us to the studio where everyone else was going to meet us to practice and talk about song progress which sadly I hadn't done anything but think about how Basil had just let me sleep on him even though he could have gotten sick. I hope he didn't. Sitting in a chair at the table in the studio the door's bell jingled and I looked up to see Aubrey dragging Basil who looked different but I couldn't tell why...Once they both got closer it hit me, "Aubrey dyed his hair." Everyone in the room looked at me and I realized I had said that out loud and I flushed in embarrassment realizing that I hadn't said it in my head luckily I hadn't said he was cute as well or that would have been on a whole new level of embarrassment for me. Basil was the first to laugh and it got my hopes up that I hadn't made an entire fool of myself in front of a person that I considered a person to get to know. Before I realized it Basil was in front of my face and poked my cheek and asked, "Do you think it looks nice?" he tilted his head and it made the end strands of his now teal hair move making me flustered as I nodded slowly making sure that I wasn't going crazy and he was asking me it instead of imagining it. "Sunny if you want I can still dye your hair blue?" I looked over at Aubrey before tilting my head in confusion as she tied her hair into a ponytail, "You said not too long ago you wanted to due some of your hair a light blue remember?" I thought to myself for a moment before replying, "Yeah I did say that... You still want to?" Aubrey looked ecstatic that I was taking her up on the offer as she walked up to me and grabbed me by the hands and pulled me up from my seat and nodded to Basil who followed with a bag in his hand that looked to be from Othermart as I was dragged to the bathroom and made to sit on a stool Basil dragged in while I just leaned back and closed my eyes feeling sleepy. After some time had passed someone shook my arm slightly and I opened my eyes and looked to the left of me to see Basil in a white shirt covered in blue dye with Aubrey washing her hands in the sink blue dye covering her shirt as well but not as bad as Basil's. I looked in the mirror and thought that it looked really good except they dyed my whole head and it had dark blue at the top and light blue at the bottom and I liked it a lot it suited me well. One of the major concerns was that it would be easier for people to recognize me but it was sorta obvious for Aubrey because she was the only one in town so I already guessed that people knew where all of us came from. Basil was drying my hair by this point and it was comforting as well as pleasant the feeling of his hands going through my hair it felt like at any moment I could fall asleep but I knew I couldn't because it would be awkward if someone had to carry me home once again. I leaned my head back and looked into Basil's eyes as he smiled at me it made my heart flutter but I didn't lose eye contact even once in fear of not being able to get it again.

(Basil's POV): As Sunny looked up at me I could see the faint scar and freckles that danced on the bridge of his nose it was really cute. (GODDAMMIT BASIL FOCUS!) I kept running my fingers through Sunny's hair as I dried it smoothly I heard a soft purring noise and wondered if it was coming from Mewo and Orchid on the tabletop but when I glanced at them they were playing with a toy and then I heard the purring softer this time and looked down to see it was Sunny purring underneath my hands. (Does it honestly feel that good?) "All done! How does it look?" Sunny sat up and looked into the mirror for a moment before smiling and saying, "It looks great Basil I can't thank you enough for this!" Sunny smiled at me and I thought I was going to melt right then and there but I smiled back with the same energy as he took my hand and walked past Aubrey who followed rolling her eyes. "Nice hair Sunny!" Kel had picked up Sunny as soon as he saw him but he never let go of my hand even when Kel dropped him and he wobbled slightly he never let go. Mari beamed as I saw some purple in her hair that faded back into her natural black I could understand why she was excited that Sunny had dyed his hair but I wondered what would happen now that he dyed it people would be able to tell who he was even without the eyepatch covering his slightly lighter brown eye. Sunny seemed to notice my concern or sense it at least because he held my hand tighter as everyone began talking about the new song Sunny made and that's when he finally let go of my hand waving both of his arms in front of his face, a flustered expression expanding across it. I felt myself laugh as he did so and it seemed that he was embarrassed about it realization reached Kel first as he whispered something to Sunny who nodded slowly as he pulled away making Kel laugh. Most of the evening was spent watching the group practice songs and near the end of the day Sunny asked if he and Mari could drive me home and when I looked over at Aubrey she nodded and bugged Kel to take her home which he groaned at doing so but agreed after another moment and it made me chuckle as I took Sunny up on his offer. After a short drive that consisted of just me and Sunny chatting about random things like school and hobbies and he seemed quite interested when I told him I like photography. As I was getting out of the car and thanking Mari Sunny pulled on my sleeve and placed a ticket into my palm with a card underneath it and before I could thank him he leaned closer and kissed me on the cheek getting a hysterical laugh out of Mari and before I could react he closed the door and drove away as I heard Mari's laugh until they turned the corner. I placed my hand on the cheek where he had kissed me and smiled to myself walking into the house and smiling and greeting Polly when I walked in.

(Sunny POV): When we got home I rushed inside only taking my shoes off at the door before muffling my laughter in the pillow on my bed as Mari leaned against the doorway, "Sooooooo, you regret it?" I looked over at her and shook my head no and Mari laughed some more, "Hopefully he feels the same but from his expression, something is definitely there." I rolled my head deeper into the pillow and began thinking (How on earth am I going to play that song when it's about how much I love Basil....)
