All Steve could think about was Eddie and how he wished that he was with him, he felt terrible for the words that Mike had said about him. All Steve wanted to do was give Mike a stern talking to, or at least show him and tell him all of the reasons why Eddie isn't a selfish person, but he also knew that it wasn't his place to say anything. That was all Eddie's private information and he couldn't just go spreading it all around. He would hate him.

He was in his car on his way to Eddie's trailer. He knew Eddie needed space and probably needed time to himself to recover from all the hateful things Mike had said to him, but he couldn't help but feel like something was wrong with him. He couldn't help but care.

As Steve pulled up to Eddie's house the pit in his stomach just kept getting larger and larger. He got out of his car and opened the door that led to the inside of the trailer. "Eddie?" Steve called out to the brunette who didn't seem to be in the main area of the home. He walked through the kitchen and saw the beer cans that were all over the counter. The smell in the room was pungent. He felt bad that Eddie had to live in these conditions with his drunk uncle. He was now in front of Eddie's bedroom door. It didn't sound like there was anyone on the other side of it, so he knocked, hoping to get a response. But when he didn't he opened the door. He was prepared to be faced with something horrible, but the only thing that he saw was a sleeping Eddie. He looked very uncomfortable. He was still in his jeans and jacket. He could also see his shoes hanging off the end of the bed. Steve looked at Eddie sadly, it looked like he had tears staining his face, as if he had just cried himself to sleep. No wonder he was still in his clothes, and no wonder why he was so uncomfortable.

All he wanted to do was hug Eddie, show him that it was going to be okay, but he didn't want to wake him up. He was afraid that if he did that he wouldn't be able to get himself to fall back to sleep. He knew that it was hard enough for him to fall asleep as it was.

Steve just gave Eddie a warm smile as he exited the room. He was going to wait in the living room for him to wake up, he wanted to be there for him when he awoke, have him know that he wasn't alone. But when he went to go leave he saw a knife on Eddie's dresser. He looked at it confused. Why did Eddie have a knife in his room, was he eating something? He went to grab the knife when he saw a red liquid dripping off the tip of it. Steve immediately knew what the liquid was. Blood. But why was there Blood on a knife? But then Steve started to put things together, Eddie's mood, the crying himself to sleep, not getting any sleep, the excessive drug and alcohol use. He went up to Eddie and grabbed his arm, trying not to wake the sleeping teen. He saw his bandana covering his arm. He quickly removed it and he was faced with the dozens of cuts that were going up and down Eddie's arm. He was so concerned. Why did Eddie do this? He knew he shouldn't have left him! He knew he should have followed him after he told him not too. He should have fought harder to keep him with him. It's all his fault.

Thats when Steve could feel Eddie starting to stir in his sleep. Eddie let out a groan and his eyes shot open. Steve could now see sweat falling down Eddie's face as if he had just woken up from a nightmare. Thats when the tears started to fall down Eddie's face once again. He hadn't noticed the presence of Steve. So when Steve wrapped his arms around him it took him by surprise. He thought that Steve was going to be mad at him too, for leaving him and telling him to not bother him anymore. "Shhh... Eddie... It's okay..." Steve said in a calm soothing voice. All Steve wanted to do was be there for Eddie, be able to help him through this hard time.

"Thank you for coming back." Eddie said sniffling into Steve's shoulder. He had his arms wrapped tight around Steve, scared that if he let go that he would just disappear.

Steve let a small smile plaster on his face, "I'd never leave you." But Steve let go of the hug and gave Eddie a stern look, "But we do need to talk about something." Eddie was taken aback by the statement. He had no idea what Steve would need to talk to him about, especially something serious now.

'"If this is about Mike, dude tell him that he doesn't have to worry anymo-" But before Eddie was able to finish his sentence Steve cut him off by grabbing his arm and showing him what he had found while he was in the room. "Well there's an explanation for this. See I was in the woods going to my smoke spot-." Again Steve cut him off.

"No Eddie..!" Steve said sternly to get him to stop talking. "I found the knife." He said grabbing it from beside him. "I know what these are..." Steve said while looking at him sadly. "Why..?" Steve's voice cracked as if he was on the verge of tears.

He hated that Eddie felt the way that he did, he hated that he thought he should resort to this other than talking to him. He hated that he had to look at him everyday and see the pain that was clear and evident on his face. Steve wanted nothing more than to put all the weight on him and have it all taken off of Eddie.

"I just..." Eddie didn't know how to come up with words to describe how he was feeling and why he did what he did, although he still tried. "With Jason, my uncle, and now Mike. I just felt like this was my only way to cope, other than the drugs and the alcohol." Eddie was looking at his hands because he was too afraid to look at Steve. He was scared of the judgement and the cold harsh stare that he would receive from him. But it never happened. Steve was only looking at him with concern.

"Why didn't you just come to me?" Steve grasped on to Eddie's hands in a reassuring manner.

"I didn't want to burden you. Plus I just yelled at you and told you to leave me alone. I didn't want to seem weak." Eddie said as tears once again started to fall from his face.

Steve just sighed and brought him back into a hug.

Steve was happy that was here now.

Thats all that matters.
