Nic's POV

"Nic, I'm sorry. I love you." he said over the phone. I was in my room and we were just casually talking. He broke up with me...again... a few months ago saying I was just too much drama. Obviously I knew it was true so I didn't pay much mind. What did annoy me was that he was seriously doing this again. Greg and I dated back in middle school when we were 13. It wasn't an actual relationship but we were best friends that really cared about each other. He then started telling people I was a bitch and when I found out I ended it. Two years later I was in a nice relationship. Greg and I were still close and I still had feelings for him. He never showed an interest though so I finally decided to move on. Two weeks after John and I started dating, Greg called and said that he had feelings for me. I was over the moon and ended things with John immediately. Three months later, Greg and I broke up again because I was an emotional wreck as he put it. We still stayed friends and in January the year after I started dating Michael. Things were going great for me and Michael, until Greg called a month later, on Valentine's Day, and declared his love for me. I told myself I wasn't going to fall for it again and I didn't.....for a month. Now I was confused and lost. Michael was amazing and treated me like a princess. But Greg has been there through everything. No matter what we always stayed friends. I then decided to just let my heart do the talking.

"I love you too." I said with a smile on my face. A week later Michael and I were over and Greg and I were together 24-7. The scene then changed to a year later.

He gave me a hug as he tried to wipe the tears from my eyes.

"You know I'll always be there for you." he said.

"I know. By the way you're still stuck with me for junior prom." I quickly answered. He just smiled at me and I got out of his car. As I made my way to the door of my house, I heard his car speed off in a distance. I opened the door and was greeted by my mom. She took only one look at me and knew that it happened again. We both saw it coming for weeks now.

"You'll find someone better." she whispered in my ear.

It was then two weeks later and my so called friend Mary came running up to me at school.

"You know Greg and Sarah are going to prom together right? Are you okay with that? There's rumors going around that you hate her!" she practically shouted.

"Wait what? No I had no clue. Last I checked we were still going as friends." I was heartbroken. I then saw Greg walk over to his locker with a bunch of his friends. I pretended like I needed to use my locker since it was across the hall. I had really good hearing so I managed to pick up the conversation.

"So, you and Sarah going to the prom." said one of his friends.

"Nice!" said another.

"Wait I thought you were going with Nic." said Lucas, who was also a very close friend of mine.

"No. We broke up. She's really annoying and such a bitch but hey she's good to keep around you know?" answered Greg.

"Dude don't play her like that." said Lucas

"I'm not. She's like my best friend. Plus she's hot. I mean look at her. Not to mention she's like in love with me. I could go up to her right now and she'd be back in my arms in a minute. She's like a booty call without the benefits."

"Dude watch what you say." But it was already too late. Greg turned and saw I heard everything. Before he could get a word out I turned and began running. I just kept running and running until I bumped into someone. I looked up to see those kind green eyes looking down at me.
