Ever since their engagement, Josiah and Viktor spent more quality, romantic time than before. With their new bond also fully matured now, Josiah was as joyful as a fluttering butterfly to be somebody's submate.

He loved showing Viktor his affection verbally and physically, and while the doctor did find it a bit much before, he eventually grew fond of it and could no longer live without it.

It a was a calm spring night today, with the work shift getting closer and closer to to its draw. As usual, Josiah had been busy in the third floor of the castle with the king, and Viktor in the first one. At last, the final appointment of the night was wrapped up in the infirmary.

"Well, you're all good to go Mrs. Keep." Viktor said as he finished checking his patient. "If the dizziness comes back, return and I will investigate what's ailing you further. But for now, the medication I've given you should stabilize you and help you regulate your blood metabolism."

"Thank you so much Dr. Bloodfern." The patient thanked him and nodded. "I hope I can get better in time for my daughter's wedding."

"You will. Just don't skip on your medication. Have a good night."

As Viktor wrapped up that appointment, he stretched for a second before going back to his office.

It was 5 AM and he was back just in time for his next cigarette. The doctor lit the end with the lighter as he sat behind his desk and took a relaxing smoke before diving into the never-ending piles of paperwork.

Only a few minutes of reading went by though, before somebody knocked on his door and opened it.

"Are you busy Viktor?" Josiah said as he peeked inside the office.

"Kind of. Why, what's up?" Viktor replied as he exhaled the smoke.

"Oh, well I finished working for tonight. I wanted to have dinner together in the dining hall. We don't get to do that often."

Viktor tilted his head in the direction of the pile of paperwork next to him he still had to do, and compared to the much smaller finished one. In all honesty, he was planning on pulling an all-nighter today to lower that pile.

But when he looked back at his fiancé, he was looking back at him with that hopeful glimmer in his precious eyes.

"Please?" Josiah whispered as he held his hands together at his chest.

Viktor held his breath as he could not resist that cuteness from him, so he gave up and sighed.

"Alright, you win my love." Viktor said as he stood up and put out his unfinished cigarette in the ashtray.

"Yay! Oh thank you darling!" Josiah hopped from joy and went to wrap his arms around him.

Viktor wasn't expecting the hug, so he stumbled back a bit before he accepted it and hugged him back. Josiah took his hand and led him to the dining hall for a nice dinner.

As they reached the doors, the couple stopped as they heard the voices of the kings speaking inside.

"It's amazing, isn't it?" They heard Artemis sniffle.

Josiah and Viktor shared a concerned look as it sounded to them like he had been crying. They listened in as Hades paused, but Josiah got curious and peeked in through the crack of the door.

"It's beautiful." He saw Hades smile gently at his mate from the ground he was kneeling on.

To see the king kneel before anyone was a rarity, but Josiah was bearing witness to it right now. He watched confused, but then in understanding, as Hades kissed Artemis's pregnant stomach and held his hands.
