Lyla Mitchell's POV

The news of us representing America for hockey in the junior olympics spread like wildfire through, not just the town of Minnesota, but the whole of America. We were being featured in news articles through out the state, and I quite enjoyed all the attention given to us.

We were informed that 5 scouted players would be joining us in the olympics, and Connie and I were praying there would be a girl coming, cause frankly, I could not smell the same odor of Goldberg and Charlie anymore.

As we steeped onto the ice for our practice, we were joined by chipmunk man, who told us that the 5 kids would be coming on the ice soon and practicing with us. I made friends relatively easy, so I was excited to see who would be joining us.

"Do you think that their good?" I asked Adam as we waited for the group to come.

"Well, they obviously are if they were scouted to play in the junior olympics." He responded as I nodded. I was suddenly startled as the doors of the bench slammed open, revealing 4 kids and— a girl! Thank god! I smiled under my mask as mr tibbles introduced them to us.

"So, tell me about my new kids." Coach said as the first one skated up. I couldn't help but stare.

"That's Luis Mendoza." He said as a very attractive boy skated to the centre of the ice. I glanced over to Connie and we exchanged, 'damn he's hot' looks, as we turned our attention to the boy. I couldn't help but notice Adam stare at him with intensity, and I chuckled.

"He's from our Miami club. A real speedster. Incredible skater. I clocked him at 1.9 seconds, blue line to blue line." Mr tibbles continued. That was pretty impressive, considering my speed was 1.7, blue line to blue line. Looks like I'll have some competition.

Luis began skating very fast around the circle as the ducks evaluated him in their heads.

"Good looking skater." Connie said, motioning to me. I nodded my head.

"Very good-looking. What do you think, Guy? Adam?" Averman said as Guy and Adam spoke in unison.

"Shut up, Averman." They said And both elbowed him in the ribs, causing him to fall over on the ice. I laughed as he groaned in pain. As I was laughing, I couldn't help but feel stern eyes on the back of my head, but I just ignored them. Mr tibbles started talking as Luis continued around in circles.

"He has one minor problem." He said. All of a sudden a big crash re routed my direction to the boy. He crashed into the boards, being followed by the other recruits.

"Has a little trouble stopping." Mr tibbles explained.

"I'd say so." Goldberg said making Fulton and Jesse chuckle. I giggled to as the recruits helped up the poor boy. He took off his helmet, revealing his sweaty hair.

"I almost had it that time." He said as the ducks sniggered at his words. Soon after Luis, a boy with a cowboy hat and a southern accent skated up to us.

"Yee-haw! How is everyone! Y'all ready to play some puck?" He exclaimed as he threw his hat away to put on his helmet.

"Hey look it's hop along Gretzky!" Jesse joked as everyone laughed. I couldn't help but feel a little bad for the cowboy, he seemed like a nice kid.

"That's Dwayne Robertson from Austin. He's the best puck handler I've ever seen." Mr tibbles said as Dwayne bounced the puck up and down on his stick. I was quite impressed by his moves. I'll have to ask him to teach me some later.

"You mean for his age." Bombay asked as mr tibbles shook his head.

"No, I don't." Mr tibbles said.

"Hey, this is easier than roping hogs! Yee-haw!" Dwayne exclaimed as he shot the puck through his legs. I looked at Adam who was staring at him I awe, accompanied by Charlie. I nudged Adam's side.
