Lyla Mitchell's POV

I approached the team at the beach, and by the looks of it, everyone was packing up, getting ready to go back to the hotel. I was kinda glad. I could now go lay down and rest, we had a big game tomorrow.

A game against Iceland.

We finished packing up all our stuff, I put my shorts back on and put everything in my bag, and we started back to the hotel.

"So...?" I heard Connie say from beside me, practically breathing down my neck. We were in the back of the line as Adam and Guy led the line.

I had no idea what she was talking about, so I just stared confusingly at her excited stature.

"So...what?" I say, deeply confused by this conversation as we continued down the path. I don't know what she wanted from me, but I knew what I just said made the girls face instantly drop, like she was gonna punch me right in the face.

"Well, are we just not gonna talk about how Charlie basically threw himself onto you to get ice cream?" She says, instantly making me sigh. Of course. I should've seen this coming. I grumbled as Connie defended her statement.

"And did you see Adam's face? He looked like he was going to strangle him! Trust me, they have something going on, and I think your in between it!" She says, causing me to double back on what she just said. Yeah, there's no way Adam likes me, and there's definitely no way that Charlie likes me. Not after what I said back there.

Deep down, I sorta felt a bit bad and guilty for saying those things to him. But, it's not my fault. I gave him enough chances for him to redeem himself, and nothing came of it.

"Your over reacting, con. Adam probably had the sun in his eyes, but, as for Charlie..." I say, wondering if I should tell connie about my odd feelings while walking, and his odd behaviour. I mean, he touched my freaking hair! On purpose!

"Oh! Do tell!" She said enthusiastically, seeing very interested in my day to day life.

Maybe I should make a vlog.

In that split second, I made my decision.

"No can do, but, when we get back to the hotel, I'll tell you guys about it. I'm sure Julie would wanna hear too." I say, feeling Connie's demeanour immediately sink down. It was hard to deny her, but I felt it was the right decision.

"Plus, the people we are talking about are right in front of us." I say in a hasty whisper, hopefully giving Connie a realization that I don't want Conway thinking we talk about him.

Cause that's exactly what we do.

I saw her nod her head, receiving what I meant. We continued walking all the way to the hotel.

"Ok. I've waited long enough. Julie is here. Charlie isn't anywhere near us. Tell us what happened!" Connie said, jittering with excitement. We're sitting on my bed, Julie and Connie breathing down my neck as I was about to reveal what happened this afternoon. It's crazy that all this happened in only a day.

"Well, at first, it was quite awkward. I mean, we were both walking in silence. But, then, he spoke up." I say, keeping my head down as I felt Connie's content energy soaking up the words as they left my mouth.

"What did he say?" She said quickly.

"He asked me why I hate him." I say.

"Pretty straight forward." Julie said, making me snort in agreement.

"What did you say?" Connie said, causing me to revel on the moment alone with the Conway boy. Even just thinking about the conversation made me jittery. I felt my cheeks heat up a bit as I continued.
