Lyla Mitchell's POV
After a while of deciding what to wear, packing snacks and towels, and holding back my tears, we were finally reading to go swimming. I wore a basic orange two piece suit, with light wash ripped Jean shorts and a white light and airy flannel on top. I had a cream tote bag full of my essentials; Sunscreen, a book, my Walkman, a towel, and my water bottle. My sun glasses were perched on top of my head, and I put on my black converse's. I was ready. I looked and felt like crap, but I was ready. Hopefully I could forget about the devastating news, and hangout with my girl friends.
"Ok guys, are we ready?" Connie finally asked as we finished packing our bags, ready to swim. Hopefully their was a surf board rental there, I wouldn't mind going for a spin.
"Yeah, I think so!" Julie said, sporting a one piece red bathing suit with an open back. She had black shorts on with flip flops. Connie was wearing a floral royal blue two piece, which was absolutely stunning. She had a sun hat on with flip flops, too.
I nodded my head silently, just wanting to hit the water.
I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts by a knock on our door, accompanied by distant shuffling. We never were expecting company, but I walked to the door, twisting the knob and opening it. Standing in front of me was basically my whole team, consisting of Adam, Luis, Fulton, dean, Guy, and, Charlie. Ugh. Of course. My mood deteriorated as I stared at each boy with confusion. By the looks of it, they already had bathing suits on, many sporting trunks and shirts. I tilted my head as Adam spoke.
"Can we join?"

"Wow, this place is amazing." I say, walking beside Adam as I admire everything about Los Angeles. The palm trees swaying lightly in the wind, the fresh smell of any kinds of foods imaginable, and, the water.
"Yeah, it sure is." Adam says beside me, also admiring the scenery. We were in front of the group, Connie and Guy behind me, Luis and Julie behind them, and dean, fulton, and Charlie at the back. Charlie insisted that he stayed as far away from me as possible, which I had no problem about. The less stench of Conway the better. We were walking down the sidewalk, when Adam pointed at something.
"There it is! And look, Lyla, they have surf board rentals!" He said excitedly as everyone else looked at the beach in front of them. It was the brightest of blues, matching with Adam's eyes. I saw distant waves crashing on the shore, and little kids playing around. I felt my spirits immediately lift, as I smiled.
With my bag on my shoulder, i made a break for it, running to the glorious waters in front of me. I laughed out loud, and heard distant laughter and footsteps from my friends from behind me.
"Hey Lyla, wait up!" I heard Adam yell as I stepped onto the soft sand.
"No can do! There's a good spot over here!" I yell back, continuing on running over to a clear zone of sand. I slowed a bit, taking in the area. I was so lost In the feeling of my hair flowing in the wind, and the hot feeling of the sun hitting my skin, that I didn't notice Adam catching up to me.
I felt two hands close around my waste, wrapping his arms around my body as they took me down to the sand. I screamed surprisingly, feeling the cool grains swallow me whole as I continued laughing. Yep. I thought. This is definitely cheering me up.
As I took a deep breath from laughing so much, I realized that the body that tackled me was right up against me, laughing too. I turned around and was face to face with Adam, I smiled brightly, as he returned the favour. I used my arm to hold myself up, putting pressure on my shoulder.
