Pretend Crush

Chapter 1

It was lunch time at school and like in any other day the girls and me are sitting all together to eat lunch at the cafeteria. It was quite tiring especially after we just solve and almost impossible equation given by our math teacher, Mr. Arnold. It was quiet but not the type of quiet that's uncomfortable. Soon after we were finished eating we took our trays and left.

"Wahh im so full but im still depressed because of the equation!!" Maya said as loud as she can. "Yeah it was really difficult but hey at least we survived!" Cassie said cheering her best friend up. "Here have a cookie, Maya" Cassie gave Maya her favorite snack as flowers were floating around her aura.

"Well what should we do now? We still have 32 minutes before the bell rings?" I asked getting the girls attention. "Hmm maybe we could-" Katelyn tried to suggest something but was cut off when Valerie drag her to her side. "WHAT THE HEC-" Before Katelyn could continue Valerie shushed her. All of us were confused and so we went to her side to see what she was looking at and on our eyes was Zachary Allaway.

You might wonder who Zachary Allaway is. Well he's nothing special other than his our classmate and who happens to be the crush of our fellow friend, Katelyn Kingsley.

"Seriously Val? I thought it was urgent.." Katelyn said as she rolled her eyes and looked away from Zachary. But were not blind we could see from the corner of our eyes that she's looking towards him. "What?" Katelyn said sternly at us like the mother of the group she is. We just giggled as she rolled her eyes again.

You could say she's in denial but she's actually trying to move on but is apparently love sick.

"Come on guys! There are so many things to do than watch that monkey looking weirdo!" Katelyn said dragging us with her on the opposite side of the hallway away from Zachary.
"Isn't he your monkey looking weirdo?" Valerie said teasing Katelyn as she just huffed.

It was now the last class and our teacher had left and gave us some work before the bell rung. We finished it 15 minutes ago since it was quite easy and so we girls gathered together and share some gossip. "I heard that Dava is dating Rick Harvey" Valerie said as she covered her mouth with her hand on the side, away from our classmates as she got close to us. "Wait really?" Cassie said interested on the conversation. "Who's Rick Harvey?" Katelyn asked. "He's the guy who stole 50 dollars from the janitor, i think" Maya said. "Well what's wrong about Dava dating Rick?" Katelyn asked again. "Well duh why would date a thief" Valerie said. "Maybe he has a reason..?" I said in tone that could match theirs. "Well maybe, but he's a thief in my eyes" Valerie said as she crossed her arms. "Well do you have any other gossip?" Katelyn asked.
"Hmm well...Cassie did have her alone time with Mason" Valerie said as she looked at Cassie and smirked. All of our eyes widened and we suddenly ask if it was true.

"..yeah" Cassie said as she was blushing like crazy. But before our imagination could get a hold of our brains Cassie stopped us to it. "B-but its not what you think!!" Cassie said as her face was red as a tomato. "Oh, then what were you two doing...alone" Maya asked innocently as she tilt her head to the side. "he wanted me to help on his unfinished assignment, that's all" Cassie said as her blush still remains in her face as she tilts her head down. We all looked at each other and giggled. For the whole class the girls were just talking about their crushes. Well mostly Valerie, Cassie and Katelyn. Maya was just drawing and she listened to them.

Me and Maya were the only ones who doesn't have a crush. Maya didn't seem like the type to have one, she's asexual so she wasn't interested on having a crush. I on the hand wasn't that interested on having a crush either but everyone in the entire friend group and class was talking about crushes and having one, well mostly the girls. I wanted to join in or be a part of the conversation, but i couldn't since i don't have one.

Valerie was crushing on Bryan, Katelyn was crushing on Zachary, and Cassie was crushing on Mason.

They seem like they were having fun on all this "crush" talk and i was getting left out. Now i don't mind getting left out in some conversations but i still want to have their attention.

So...

Why don't i get a crush myself..?

But getting yourself a crush probably takes time..

Then it hit me.

Why don't I pretend i have a crush instead??

It doesn't seem that bad..

What could go wrong..?

Alright!

Its settled

Im going to find myself a guy and pretend to like him
